No,the Dish Network satalite box signals require it own remote for it INFER RED INPUT and INFER RED OUTPUT signals.Call Dish Network customer service ask for a another original Dish Network remote.U pay $5 or $6 dollars a month for the satalite box as rental.They should wave the fee or charge u very little for a another remote.

You can take out the batteries for 20 seconds, then put them back in. Generally if that doesnt work, try to replace the batteries. If that still doesnt work you might have to reset your remote in order to get it functioning again. Let me know if you have done those steps or were you are at after you do this.

If u stil hve the manual, plz consult it. OR u press n hold shift, pres ur device button (tv), indicator light starts blinking, pres n release ur search/power button continuosly, whn u get response from ur tv, leave it 4 a few seconds, the light goes off n ur remote is set again.

I definitely hope that this has been resolved, but if not, or you have questions in the future, here are some steps that will help you. Just follow the link below, and you will have steps to program the remote to the receiver so that it can change those channels again. Also, there are steps to program the remote to your tv if you ever have any problems with that! I hope this helps.

i did everything i could at the moment but i got the soultion hold down the SAT button and if your control has a [green R] press it at the same time then it should swith to sat hold it down for like 30SEc it works trust me.............

Here is a list of remote codes that dish has for your remote.

Sounds similar to the remote that came with my dish network vip-722. It took a bit of force to mine apart. There are tiny tabs along the side of the remote. I was able to force them up with a flat head screw driver.
