20 Most Recent Universal Remote Control URC-6131N Remote Control Questions & Answers

Unfortunately, the code for the DVD player may not be available in the programming on the chip for this remote. The Sylvania DVD player was made by Funai but it was released in 2005. The URC-6131N was released in 2003. Any remote that is older than the device or is released less than 6 months after the device will not have the new model codes. There is a lag in the codes becoming available to the universal remote programmers.

Your options are a newer universal remote with the code for the Sylvania DVD player, try to program the DVD player remote to control your TV, or get a universal remote that can be programmed by a computer (USB port).

Try the following codes: 0054, 0030, 0179, 0024, 0186, 0187, 0386, 1254, 1454 for Magnavox TVs. Please note that universal remotes usually only have codes for devices released at least 6 months before the remote was programmed. If your TV is newer than your remote, you may need a newer universal remote. The URC-6131 gives it a date of Feb 2003.
