Hello and welcome to FixYa;
You have a few trouble shooting steps you can take here; This could be so many things;
First, take off the keys and clean the contacts underneath them gently and replace keys;
You can also try to use your onscreen keyboard to see if it is a problem within the computer or if it is
your actual 'keyboard' that is the problem.
You can plug in an external keyboard by USB or wireless and try it to see if it is still glitching.
You can try to reinstall and/or update driver for it;
If the external keyboard and your onscreen keyboard work, you may have to replace your keyboard.
You can order one from places such as eBay or Amazon, and install it yourself. Keyboards are usually relatively cheap, and not hard to install on laptops.
Thanks and good luck. I would give you more information, but you didn't provide the model of your Compaq, these are suggestions i would try in any model though. You will have to look up driver downloads for your model though if you decide to try this step.
