If I connect the ethernet from the DSL (2wire) directly to my laptop, it works. When I use the wireless network to the linksys router (wireless-g) I cannot connect to the internet. I use the linksys to connect my home network and I have a printer off my desktop. My desktop now works fine (it has a wireless linksys card to connect to the router) and I can print and see the other computers before from my laptop, but now I am not sure.
Hello dstoller,
You description is very confusing to sort exactly what is or isn't happening.Let me try to sort out what you have:
You have a Laptop
You have a Desktop
Desktop has a printer attached
You have a DSL modem with a wireless router
Laptop via ethernet: Good
Laptop via wireless: Not Good?
Desktop via wireless: Good
Not sure exactly what you are needing help with...

Actually it was the double router that caused the problem. My usually home network used a Linksys Router, but adding the 2wire router/DSL made the Linksys unnecessary. I was still to use both, but by removing the Linksys, I was able to connect both computers to the internet and to still connect them together with the 2wire router.
when desk top on laptop wont connect to iternet some times it will sometimes wont could it be the fire wall on laptop
