Washer won't advance from cycle to cycle

I just moved my Danby portable washing machine down a flight of stairs.(We did so carefully!)  It no longer advances through the cycles. Each cycle still works, (filling with H2o, spinning, draining, spinning) but I have to advance the knob to each new cycle myself. It doesn't work automatically.
Is there a way I can re-adjust it to work properly?

My Danby DDW1805W 18" portable dishwasher is less than 3 years old. Timer Cam no longer will advance. Contacted the Danby company. Turns out they've changed the design of the front door panel controls and no longer produce, nor have in stock, the old timer cam that I need. The new door panel/controls are not compatible. $359 wasted. A new Danby dishwasher costs $400 at Walmart. Danby won't give me a "rebate" towards the purchase of a new Danby dishwasher, no price adjustment, nothing. Basically they told me I'm just plain out of luck. I'm not the only person with this same problem DO NOT BUY DANBY.

When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:

* It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never
advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace
the timer.

* It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates,
drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.

Danby DWM99W washer wouldn't go into spin cycle unless turn timer a notch by hand then completes the cycles

Most washers of my experience have at least one programme that stops the wash, leaving water in the tub until the programmer is advanced a notch by hand when it will pump out and enter the rinse/spin cycles.

I suggest you reread the instructions just to be clear whether there is a fault.

Isyour washing machine displaying an error code? If so, try using the owner's manual to decipher the code and you may beable to easily diagnose the problem. The problem could be as simple as the doorbeing slightly ajar, the machine is in pause mode, or the spin selector isstuck. Checkthe handy chart in the article Washingmachine won't advance to washer spin cycle for more possible reasons why your washingmachine won't advance to washer spin cycle-and some tricks for getting itworking again.

Hello, I have a stacked Whirlpool washer/dryer. (Model # LTE6234DQ1) I wish to move it down a flight of stairs and want to know if this model can be easily 'unstacked' for the move. Thanks for your...

Hi there.

Yes it can.
Access bolts to the feet should be visible from the rear of the unit. Failing that, the top screws of the bottom appliance should undo, and the top appliance (with lid of lower one) should slide back 1" allowing it to be taken off.

Be careful not to damage this lid section in the move, and further removal can restore it back to two appliances again.
