My danby countertop dishwasher ddw497w turns on, drains the water in the tub, refills and right before it usually fires up. click and nothing. just sits there with no fault code. any ideas before i sm

Hey Derrick, According to the manual: http://www.danby.com/cms/documents/pdfs/en/DDW497W_EFSOM.pdf The most likely cause is the appliance not being leveled properly. Apart from that, I have found no useful information. If you have a smart phone, try using one of the various, 'Surface Level' apps which will allow you to set your phone on the top of the appliance and then adjust the level until the bubble is centered in the crosshairs. Hope this helps.

My Danby countertop dishwasher won't wash-the dishwasher detergent is never used at the end of the wash and nothing is clean

Was it working before, and now has stopped working? If so, it sounds like it has poor water circulation. It might be caused by a leak. If you have not noticed a leak, it might be clogging due to hard water deposits. Do you live in a region with hard water?

Hi, my dishwasher worked then it decided not to wash anymore. The water comes in and out but the actual wash.... nothing happens. No spraying. Please help.

Your danby dishwasher has 2 motors. One for draining and one for washing. Sounds like your washing pump went bad since u said water goes in and out

Buzzing noise

i contacted danby and they told me that is how the unit was built. the buzzer would go off for about 1 minute and then would start up about 15 minutes later. I have decided not to buy any more products from this company. They should state this in their product literature.

Ddw1899BLS built in dishwasher wont drain

follow this steps and fix it. Merry Christmas. 1. Air gap / Drain hoses If there is an air gap (located in the sink, near the faucet), check to see if it is clogged. Unscrew the top cap and see if there is anything blocking inside. Note: If there is no air gap installed, the dishwasher might not drain properly. If the drain hose is clogged, the dishwasher would not drain. If there is an air gap installed, it is very common that a hose going from the air gap into the garbage disposer is clogged. Remove and clean the hose. Make sure to reattach the hose before starting the dishwasher. Note: If you recently had a garbage disposer installed, it is common to overlook removing the drain plug. 2. Broken belt Some dishwasher models use a belt to drive the pump. Replace the belt if found broken. Note: Sometimes the belt would just come off the pump. Even though it might not be broken, it is recommended that you replace the belt, because it is probably too stretched out. 3. Pump Some models have two impellers inside the pump - one, wash impeller, takes care of the wash cycles, the other, drain impeller, drains the water out. If the drain impeller is broken (broken blades, shaft), the dishwasher would not drain. Replace any broken pump components. 4. Drain solenoid Some models (for example most GE dishwashers) use a drain solenoid to drain water out. Sometimes the solenoid gets stuck, preventing the water from draining out. Try to free up the solenoid. If unsuccessful, you might have to replace the pump assembly. 5. Motor If the motor is stuck, it is sometimes possible to free it up by manually spinning the motor. Replace the motor if defective. 6. Timer Replace if defective (note: uncommon problem). E4 error light comes on,

The problem is related to the floater assembly inside the dishwasher. It is filling up with gunk and stop working properly. I found out the hard way after a good spill. The solution is easy but takes a bit of time.1. Unplug the power and water hoses.Unscrew the main cover ( both sides , pry off plastic caps first) back, and open door to remove the screws form the left and top attached to the main cover.2. Remove the cover completely by lifting and slightly bending the bottom to unlatch.3. On the right side, you can see the floater assembly. Remove the single screw on the lever and turn the lever 90 degrees to remove from the piston. Pry out the reservoir cover by pressing on the two latches(one is glued on, remove the glue).4. You will see a very dirty mechanism which have to be cleaned up totally with sponges and paper towels. If possible ,you can try to insert a flexible wire inside the rubber hose at the bottom to ensure nothing is blocking it.5. Replace the reservoir cover with its piston and re-install the lever.6. At this stage, before installing the big cover, you can connect the hoses and power cord and try with setting P5 to start a small run. You should see the lever rising during water filling, when the spinner start turning, water filling stops for a moment then starts again for a brief period. This is a good check of the health of the float assembly when you run your washer. There should be a brief period of stop and start of water fill like you had when your machine was brand new.7. Re-install the cover. ( the darker colored screws go in the front (behind door). Put back plastic caps . Reconnect power and water hoses.8. Repeat from time to time when you don't hear the start and stop water fill.
