When was the last time the machine was serviced?

If it has that clear plastic on the top where the thread goes around make sure you hear a couple of clicks and the thread feels a bit tight. If the thread is too loose - your machine will go about 5 stitches, then stop and start beeping. The tension has to be tight enough, if it's too loose your machine will not sew. It took me years to figure out this one simple thing because I did not think to go online and check for help. I was ready to throw it away, now it sews like a dream!

SOURCE: My Futura CE-150 beeps and stops sewing after only a few stitches

Look for the buttonhole lever, just in front of the presserlever, on the lefthand side of the machine. Pull it down and push it back to the top. Good Luck

SOURCE: why does my ce-200 beep every few stitches?

I was having this problem for two days so I just called Singer and got a solution!  I'm posting it for you because I was on here looking for a solution to the problem and nobody had posted one.
Take the top thread out of the machine - cut it back by the spool and pull it out through the machine the way the thread goes when you are sewing - you don't want to be pulling the thread back through the machine because dusty bits are getting stuck up in that part of the machine with the frosted plastic where you have to make sure the thread is pulled into when threading.  You might not think there is dust in there - I didn't because I had taken that part off and brushed it out but that didn't work.  What you need to do is floss that part of your machine.  Get some dmc floss or some UNWAXED dental floss and pull it into that part of your machine - under the pieces that are under that frosted plastic part on the top of your machine - now floss it back and forth for a good 30 - 45 seconds.  When you are done that pull it out to the left - the way the thread goes when the machine is sewing - remember pulling the thread back the other way will get fuzzies stuck in there.  I rethreaded the machine carefully and made sure that the thread got pulled into that top part properly - the lady on the phone said it may feel differently now that its been cleaned out.  Then it worked again!
I hope this works for you!

SOURCE: machine beeps and stops sewing, no error message displayed

sounds like not through the tension plate (on top) right... rethread and make sure you hold the thread taunt toward you as you putt through top tension... you should hear a slight click and some resistance...

I get an E2 error on my Brother CP7500 and the button lever is all the way up

A stitch other than the buttonhole or bar tack stitch was selected and the foot controller was pressed (or the start/stop button was pressed if the foot controller is not connected) while the buttonhole lever is lowered.

Raise the buttonhole lever before continuing the operation.
Each time a key pressed or an incorrect operation is performed, a beep is sounded.
  • For a correct operation
    One beep is sounded.
  • If an incorrect operation is performed
Two or four beeps are sounded.
  • If the machine locks up, for example, because the thread is tangled
The sewing machine continues to beep for four seconds.
    The machine automatically stops.
Be sure to check for the cause of the error, and correct it before continuing to sew.

Beep sound on Kenmore 19233 sewing machine

I had the same problem. Through trial and error, I found the problem was with the thread tension. Usually the thread became wrapped around the spool holder as it was coming off the spool. As you continue to press the pedal, tension is created. When you release the pedal, some slack develop in the threading process and you are able to sew a few more stitches before the beeping starts again. If the thread is caught on the spool holder, simple re-thread the machine. That generally works for me. If it continues to happen, place you thread in a cup behind the machine and thread as usual. You can also purchase an inexpensive thread holder. I made one out of a wood block and other odds and ends found around the house.
