Yes...., they thought they pressed Timer and didn't. It was still running when I saw it. I quickly opened the door to stop it and everything went black. I hope there's just a fuse burned out, it's only 2 years old and built in. Will this require a service call or is it something simple we can do ourselves? Help Please!!!
I recommend you have a service man come in because it is more than a fuse, the keypad control board will need to be checked along with the rest of the system.
I can understand your concern especially when microwave ovens are cheaper than what they use to be, but from your description you have 2 or 3 issues that will require a professional, I guess it will come down to what the oven is worth, If the oven cost you $100. to $200. new, two years ago, then replace the microwave, repair cost will probably exceed that.
Yes I'am! when you opened the door the cycle was interrupted probably blowing the fuse or worse taking out the inverter board. But what I'am more concerned about is the fact the timer did not shutdown the microwave oven indicating a problem with the keypad control board, that part alone will cost $100.00 and up.
That is worth a try considering it is only 2 years old, I think if you push hard enough you may get the service at no charge because no company likes bad publicity.
Yes! i feel it is a manufacture issue and they should honour what they sell.
Glad to be of service, good luck.

SOURCE: Emerson Mwg9111sl microwave blows 20 amp internal fuse instantly everytime.
check your thermal fuse its about 2 inches long white on the outside black on the inside it has 2 wires going to it check for
cotinuity becareful of the capacitor you need to disapate that first by touching the two teminals together with a screw driver

The 22 seconds is the giveaway.
In most cases, this is a problem with the inverter or a bad magnetron.
Due to the lethal voltages used and produced, I do not recommend that an inexperienced person work on these.
I would recommend that you contact your nearest Panasonic-authorized servicer.

This
is a problem in one of the damper-related components, most likely the
switch, but it may also be the motor or the damper door.
The
damper is a door inside that opens or closes depending on cooking mode.
If the controller senses that the door is not in the right position, it
will shut down the cook cycle.
Sharp models (and Sharp models made for Dacor) stop after
59 seconds.
See the attached sample
photo for a typical damper assembly.

Well your gonna have to take it down a take apart the microwave more than likely. Probably have a shorted HV diode, magnetron, shorted winding in HV transformer.burnt or frayed HV wire insulation

under the outer cover, its either a 10-15-or 20 amp ceramic safety fuse avail at most hardware stores, the amp rating is on the side of the fuse, if the new one blows then either the H.V. diode/capacitor or the magnetron can be suspects

I hate to pay a service man and then have him say he can't fix it.... or it costs what a new one would....yikes!
It's being sold for $279 now, and I have to pay installation. So about $375 to replace. I thought it odd it kept running a full 20 min. and didn't stop and go black until I opened the door to stop it. Why would it go just as I opened the door? Are you familiar with LG microwaves?
Oh... I hear what you are saying. I was hoping that the fact it kept running it didn't burn anything out - just blew a fuse when I interrupted it. Does it possibly sound like product/manufacturer issue since it did not stop it? Maybe they would stand behind it (I'm hoping)
Thanks very much. If you service Kennesaw, GA - Let me know!! (smile)
