Cannot upload recording files to PC. Both my laptops do not see the recorder.

In Windows 7 use Ctrl+Shift+Esc rather than Ctrl+Alt+Del. It gets you to Task Manager quicker. Select Task Manager, the Performance tab, Resource Monitor, and Memory tab. What are the figures for Hardware Reserved, In Use, Modified, Standby and Free?

As far as I know you cannot record music from your PC. You can however use recording software (like windows sound recorder) to record wave files (WMA) and upload these to your mp3 player. Most players have onboard converters to convert to mp3 whilst uploading. Or you can download mp3 files form the internet and upload to your player. If your player is not appearing in "My Computer" when connected to the USB port, you have a different set of problems which could require you to fromat the player to FAT32.

Did you try using an online file sharing service? You can upload (large) files, get the link and email that to friends. They can then download the file.
There are services that offer GB's of space, so the file would not be too big quickly....

The part which shows the files to be downloaded from the JVC recorder does not open when the software starts up. It only opens when the recorder is detected attached to the USB port. I suggest 1. Start the software. 2. connect the JVC recorder to the PC with the USB cable. 3. Turn the JVC recoder ON. The recoder display says "PC link" and the files to download show up in Power Voice II on the PC. Michael C

I solved the problem by locating the program Olympus digital recorder and then fiddling with it until the file downloaded. The problem was that the instruction manual for the digital voice recorder told me just to connect it to the computer and then the computer would instruct me. That didn't happen.

This is a issue recognized in HP Notebooks which are shipped with Webcams earlier. However, latest Notebooks are having this issue resolved.
Basically the issue is that the videos that were recorded using the webcam used to record fast than normal because of which the issue started.
HP had released a patch for this where the Videos recorded using inbuilt Webcam will be solved. However, this is not going to fix the issues with the videos that are already recorded.

Download and save the Patch in the Notebook and double click it once the file is saved to install it.
Restarting the Notebook will complete the installation.
Record any video and check by playing it to confirm.

With this particular model of recorder that functionality is not possible as when the recorder is connected to the computer it is not a USB Mass Storage Device. It will only files to be downloaded to the computer not uploaded back.

if you are using a Mac running Leopard (Sys 10.5), you need to upgrade the H4  firmware from Zoom website

You will need an external SD card reader.
Once you do this, you can them plug in the Zoom to the mac with a usb cable, then select Connect to PC with the jog wheel.
The disc should show up on you desktop, and then you can download the files - (Should be in the folder marked STEREO)

Check all folders on the recorder. Sometimes dictation inadvertently goes into another folder. Also; if the recorder is disconnected from the computer too soon after the expected amt of time it takes to upload to computer, the files may become lost (in space?) This has happened to my physicians in the past. Must leave the recorder connected to the uploading doc until you are certain files have been uploaded. Best to bring up the Olympus download folder to be certain.
