You'll need to open up your player to find the plate and board ID numbers to be able to find a compatible firmware for your player. Take a look at this post here: http://mympx.org/forum/knowledge-base-faq/41330-how-recover-dead-mp3-mp4-player.html. This will tell you how to recover your dead player using your firmware.

Hope that helps.

My (.XCESS.) MP4 screen does not display any thing

sounds to me like the firmware file has been corrupted, the included software for your player (MP3 utilities) should have a program called mp3 upgrade tool, which is used to load the firmware file to the player.

here is a site that should help you with firmware update

Ricco 4gb mp3 mp4 player

Here is the link to all Ricco Mp3 players.  You will have to find your specific model number on the list. There is an Mp3 Format tool that came with most Ricco Mp3 players - if you perform this formatting, then you should be good to go.  One model has a firmware upgrade - if you have that model, perform the firmware upgrade. http://www.netac.com/support/download.htm

Good luck!

TGE MP4 Player Firmware Upgrade

Did you download the correct version of Firmware? There are 3 different types for your model (i'm guessing you have the HB500).

Not too sure if there is a reset button on the player.. If there is, use that..

Otherwise, download the firmware again and reinstall it

- As with nearly ALL sansa e250 problems, formating it will bring it back to normal. 1. Connect it to your computer. 2. Open 'My Computer' and right-click the device. 3. choose 'format...' and then 'quick format'. 4. If you haven't done so, upgrade the firmware: -Find the firmware on the Sandisk home page. Don't use the wrong one, though. If you have a Rhapsody version, choose the e200r player. Download the .zip file and extract its contents (right-click, 'extract all'). Then connect your player to your computer and drag the extracted file to your player's drive. Now when you turn your player on, it'll undergo the firmware update. You can also update your firmware by connecting to Rhapsody with your player hooked up and following the firmware update instructions when the window comes up. If the firmware update window doesn't appear, then you have the latest firmware to date. 5. Test out the player and see if this method worked. If not, you may want to send it back sandisk or return to the retailer you bought it from.
