DAV DZ100 Hi Welcomejee Many Thanks for your reply, but when I am inserting the CD manually, still its showing reading on display but nothing goes further....and I don't know which is the digital process board ad what is ROM board and how much it costs to me... I am having SONY DAV-DZ100 DVD Home theater system. The player is reading all the MP3 format cds and If I Insert any DVD, the message showing as "can't play this disc", even its a new DVD. Please suggest the solution.

Please put few drops of WD-40 on spindle motor shaft that sound not spin smoothly.
Spindle motor is located in middle of dvd mechanism that holds and spins disc.
If that does not solve your problem, replace optical block.
Let me know if you need optical block part number.

That is normal and it is because the codecs on your DAV-DZ100 came with the firmware, and the firmware will not be up to date so soon as the online divx codecs for Windows get updated.

All you can do is upgrade the DAV-DZ100 to the latest firmware version that will contain the most recent divx codecs for this model. Still this will not guarantee that you can view all Divx compression formats.
It is the same on my DVD at home and there is nothing to do about that apart downloading latest firmware.

Press standby button to turn on the set, select dvd function then press and hold STOP and EJECT button for five seconds or more to UNLOCK cd slot. You will see UNLOCK in display.

2 options comes in my mind...
Put software upgrading CD manually in player and let it finish software upgrade process.
If this trick doesn't work, you need to replace digital process board or need to replace on board ROM, if you can.

to solve this problem, press Stop & Eject button togather for 5 Seconds. Message will be displayed Unlocked n have fun ;)

I already realize the update and now it can play all DIVX FILES

dav-dz100 a disc cannot be ejected and locked

This is a common problem with sony it means unplug me or i will explode, it is a protection of the heat sync and usually means that a cooling fan has shorted out. If under gurentee return to Sony for repair if not under guranebntee as is generally the case check on the net for a replacement fan motor - as far as i know sony were sourcing thier fanns from Sunon there is a German based headquarters - just google sunon europe
