SOURCE: Nordictrack motor will not run when start button is pushed.

Likely the cover of one of the motor brushes popped off. Unplug the machine before you pop it back in place, then try it again.

If that doesn't work, most likely it's the motor control board, or possibly the console, or finally just a loose connection behind the console.

But most likely, it's the motor brush cover. I've been seeing that alot with this model.

Sound like function pad or upper console I don't know if you can purchase the function pad, but you may have to purchase the entire console and that may quite expensive.

SOURCE: Nordic Track c2200 no speed

It likely is the controller if it was speeding up and down erratically. Check the position of the reed switch to make sure it is positioned about 1/8" away from the magnet in the side of the front roller pulley. Run a diagnostic program as follows. Press the stop and speed arrow up buttons until you insert the key. Press the stop once or twice until you get to a screen with 2 sets of zeros. Now press and hold the speed arrow up button until one number set shows 8.5. The unit will go to full speed so be careful not to be on the walking belt. The other number set should top out shortly at either 10.0 or 12.0 based on whether your speed buttons go up to 10 or 12. If the motor races past your top number,( don't let it run that way as you may damage the motor), pull the key. If the readout is above or below your target by more than .4 and not flucuating a lot, you may need to tune the potentiometer on the controller. Counter clockwise turn with a phillips screwdriver turns the motor speed down. Be carefull not to short out the controller board by touching components with screwdriver. If not comfortable ask a friend with electronics background. If you turn the pot. too far it will break. It will not go a full revolution in either direction and tiny movements are recommended. Again I believe your controller needs replacing.

1. Power

o 1

Ensure that the treadmill is plugged into a grounded outlet using the correct surge suppressor. Use a UL 1449 suppressor listed as a transient voltage surge suppressor (TVSS). It must be rated for 15 amps and 120 volts AC. Secure the services of an electrician if the outlet is not grounded, or move the Proform treadmill near a grounded outlet. Do not use an extension cord.

o 2

Insert the safety key fully into the display. Treadmills with keys are designed not to turn on without the safety key in place.

o 3

Find the circuit breaker on the front of the frame and make sure it is not tripped. The circuit breaker is a vertical switch on the 540S and a horizontal switch on the 540 Interactive Trainer. Press it to the "Reset" position, which will be labeled.
2. Reed Switch

o 1

Unplug the treadmill and remove the safety key.

o 2

Move the upright base of the treadmill down with the help of another person and lift the uprights so that you can get to the underside of the console. Use a Phillips screwdriver with at least a 5-inch shaft to remove the screws. There are five hood screws on the 540 Interactive trainer and four screws on the 540S.

o 3

Remove the motor hood to get to the small reed switch by pivoting the hood off the frame. Find the reed switch and magnet, which are on the left side of the pulley for both models.

o 4

Turn the pulley with your hand until the reed switch aligns with the magnet. There should be 1/8-inch gap between the two. Fix the distance so that it is 1/8 inch by loosening the reed switch screw and sliding it to the correct distance. Tighten the screw.

o 5

Reverse the directions to put the hood back on and the treadmill upright in the original position.

Our NordicTrack T5 zi treadmill belt is not moving...

Belt Not Moving:
If the belt isn't moving, there are a few potential causes. One common issue is a faulty motor controller. Even if the red LED on the control panel is lit up, it might not be sending voltage to the motor. To check the motor, follow these steps:

First, test the motor using the methods outlined in this guide: Motor Testing. Motor Testing (treadmilldoctor.com)

If the motor is working, the motor control board may be the culprit.

Console Wire Check:
Inspect the console wires that run from the motor board through the primary wire. Loose or damaged wires can cause the belt to stop moving. Reconnect any loose wires.

Smoking Smell:
The smoking smell you noticed could indicate an electrical issue. It's essential to address this promptly.

Off-Center Belt Alignment:
If the belt is off-center, it can cause problems. Confirm that the treadmill is on level ground by using a bubble level. Then, follow these steps for belt alignment: Belt Moves to One Side. How to Fix Treadmill Belt Slipping to One Side ' Stay Centered (treadmilldoctor.com)

Loud Mechanical Sound:
The noise during operation might be due to misalignment or worn components. Inspect the treadmill's moving parts for any signs of wear.

Retirement Decision:
Based on the severity of the issues and potential repair costs, you'll need to decide whether it's worth fixing or if it's time to retire the treadmill.

Professional Inspection:
If you're unsure, consider having a professional technician assess the treadmill.

Golds gym treadmill 420 belt will not move but panel works and elevated.

hi Mary.
If you flip on the switch, set the speed and nothing happens, your treadmill is an unhappy camper. Troubleshooting involves putting on your inspector hat and taking a tour of the belt. You may have to proceed to the console if that doesn't solve the matter. Belt Tension If the belt is too tight, it could cause enough tension that the motor can't turn the belt. This is most likely the cause of your belt not moving if you recently adjusted the belt tension due to slippage. Lift the edge of the belt. If you can't raise it at least 2 to 3 inches off the walking deck, the belt is too tight. Follow the directions in your owner's manual for loosening the belt. You will need an Allen wrench to loosen the rear roller adjustment bolts.Belt CenteringA treadmill belt can shift to the right or left over time. If it shifts enough, this may cause the belt to stop moving. Stand at the back end of your machine and inspect the belt. If it has shifted, you will need to center it by turning the rear roller adjustment bolts. These bolts adjust both the tension and the centering of the belt. Follow the instructions in your owner's manual that explain which of the two bolts you need to tighten or loosen to shift the belt back to the center.Console WiresHorizon Fitness recommends checking the console wiring if your treadmill belt doesn't move. The console wire connects to the main wire that runs down the inside of the treadmill upright to the motor board. Make sure the connection between the two wires is secure. The connectors usually snap into each other. Disconnect and reconnect the wires. Make sure the wire that runs through the upright isn't pinched or twisted.Additional Options If the troubleshooting does not get the belt running again, you may have a tight motor belt or a bad motor. You will need to remove the motor hood to access these parts of your machine. If your treadmill is still under warranty, contact the manufacturer for a professional repair. You may void the warranty if you attempt to work on the motor yourself.or read up some more at this link. Golds gym treadmill 420 belt will not move Google Search
