I have a cordless phone/answering machine,40-channel 900 MHz, #26998. Recently, I am not aware of message until 3-4 days after caller leaves message. what is causing delay?

I left myself a message on Thursday at 5 PM and it didn't show up on my answering machine until the following Monday. I simply turned the machine off and on and it seems to have fixed the problem. (I have had the phone for several years so I knew it wasn't a problem with my service provider.)Thanks

Make sure your phone service provider is compatible with your home phone. If you contact them they can usually provide you with a list of incompatible phones. Next call your home # see how many rings before your answering machine picks up. Check to make sure message is clear and audible. :Leave yourself a message. Note the time it takes for your message to become retrievable. If there is a signicant delay there might be a equipment malfunction and you should contact phone manufacturer.

New service may be interupting your phone answering machine with a digital one provided by them. Call your number to verify what system is answering your calls for you. Speak to your phone service provider for further clarification

The 26920 isn't an answering machine. Please refer to the documentation for whatever answering machine/voicemail service you have on your phone line.
