Hdd block error

Hi!
I have a problem with my new desktop (9 month old). Every new start after night rest it offers safe mode and does not load if I say him load an ordinal way. Well, I go then to safe mode and a couple of minutes latter (looking through system messages (Control panel/Administration...)) I make soft shut down. Most often, the next start is OK. It repeats from first day. I tried to reinstall Windows a couple of times, it does not help. There was a period (Summer) when it has been started with no problem, but not too long.
Last month I notice a new warning saying that HDD has block errors. Now I'm testing my HDD and can see 73 error blocks (10 per cents scanned yet  by Victoria HDD test program).
What you say on that?
Is it fixable or you'd advise me to change HDD or something else?
I have Windows XP SP2 updated and Samsung HD200HJ hard disk.

Thank you,
Ali Tkhagapsov,
Ukraine

Yes, better replace the hard drive. because even if you try and run a repair and work it will fail in the future. to keep your data safe i suggest that you replace your HDD now.

Blue screen when windows loading screen

There's a number of reasons that you could have that issue. HDD failure, RAM failure, some sort of Windows driver issue.

Try restarting the computer and before the Windows loading screen, start mashing the F8 key. That should bring you to a screen that offers to start you in safe mode. Try starting in safe mode, which only loads the absolutely necessary files for Windows to load, and see if it'll start up there. If it does, attempt to use Windows Recovery Tool.

I'm running an HP Elitebook on Vista - it's only a couple of months old. All of a sudden it has stopped booting properly. It runs for about 5 minutes on each screen and then fails to load the desktop....

AVG is useless. Sounds to me like you are working the HDD to hard. (heat is the factor).

If there is any sort of clicking/humming sound coming from the bottom, it's the HDD.

HP's are known to fail quickly. You pay for what you get.

Clone desktop computer would not start up

If you mean running a hard drive scan such as CHKDSK (check disk) then you may have a failing hard drive. Try taking the computer into safe mode. (repeatedly press the F8 key after switching the computer on, then doing a three count--must be dont before the windows logo appears; choose safe mode or safe mode with networking). If the computer loads up normally in safe mode, then you have a software or harware conflict. If not, look at the hard drive.

IBM T22 Thinkpad won't boot up - not even in safe mode

either you have a virus or a corrupted dll file.
eitherway, beside create a bootable CD or Floppy disk, and try to fix from there, thats' time a money.
the next best thing, is to reinsall the operating system.
the other option is get a new hard drive and install the operating system on that so you can preserve the data you have on the old one.

Blue Screen

Is this still under warranty? If not then you'll just need to buy another HDD (hard drive device) and connect that one where the old was. Re-install XP or Vista. Conact Gateway or go to the Gateway web site to see what was hardware was supported for your system.

HDD IDE/EIDE or SATA/SATA II
OS XP or Vista

After you find out the info just install the new HDD, and install the OS. I only recommend doing this since you can't even get into the Safe Mode. When everything is back up and running you can also re-attach the old drive to what is called Slave or CS (cable select) this is more automatic process. Then you'll be able to recover any data missing that you need that was on the older drive.

ERROR MESSAGE READS...

Try starting it in safe mode. (Hold F8 after power on). If you get your icon screen go to start, run and type in msconfig. Click startup and disable all the items. Hit OK and try a normal restart. This error can be caused by a bad program starting up.
