How to Unlock Addresses on your iPod Wi-Fi
<p>The iPod touch has a built-in wireless network adapter that
allows you to join Wi-Fi networks; however, in some cases the wireless access
point to implement a Wi-Fi network can be configured to an iPod touch join the
network. You can configure the access point so that it no longer blocks the
iPod from the wireless network. <br />

<p>1. Tap "Settings," then "General" on the
iPod touch. Touch "About" then scroll down to "Wi-Fi
address." Make a note of the 12-digit hexadecimal number listed under that
title, which is the address of Medium Access Control encoded in iPod. <br />

<p>2. Connect your computer to a numbered port on the back of
the wireless router using an Ethernet cable. <br />
<p><br />
<p>3. Log on to the computer. <br />

<p>4. Start a Web browser on your computer. Directly to the
router's configuration utility. The tool is listening on a specific web address
that depends on the router. For example, if your router is a Linksys WRT54GS,
navigate to the address "192.168.1.1". <br />

<p>5. Open the configuration menu for the MAC address
filtering. For example, in a WRT54GS, click on "Wireless" then
"Wireless MAC Filter". <br />

<p>6. Remove the iPod's MAC address in the list of prohibitions
aimed at the router's configuration utility. For example, in a WRT54GS, click
"Edit MAC Filter List". A new window will appear. Double-click the
field that the iPod has the MAC address, then press "Backspace" to
make the contents of the field. Click "Save Settings". The window is
closed. Click "Save Settings" in the main browser window. At this
point, your router will be configured for iPod touch for the network. <br />
