HD Problem When watching HD programming sometimes notice a ripple in the screen the rolls through out the picture. Sometimes the picture is so clear that you can't notice it. Tested a newer HDTV on the same Directv HD reciever. No ripple at all. I only am noticing the ripple when watching HD. It is hooked up through the component video connection. Even when watching the HD channnels off my digital antenna, I notice the ripple effect on my screen. It is like there is some interference coming through. It is a minor distraction, but want to know if something needs to be fixed at some point.

try connecting a dvd player to the same componant input and see if the ripple is still there. I suspect it will be. The 'formatter' module is suspect, or a bad regulator on the 'signal pcb'. Yes, this will eventually require repair.

Check with your cable/satellite provider. There may be an error with your programming package assignment, or sometimes the companies move channels from one tier to another in order to make more money. They should have given you a notice on channel lineup changes, though.
that would be a failing tcon board on the back of the screen.you would need to replace this part but they are available on ebay the part number is on the tcon board. match the numbers a version number to get the matching board for the screen. tcon board is the board were the main wire cluster goes to the screen board this is the tcon board.
my westinghouse has the exact same problem....i have noticed it will catch sometimes when the screen changes from one picture to another that is totally different and one right after another......
You will need to contact a Mitsubishi Authorized repair facility. The entire electronics package must be removed and sent back in to Mitsubishi. The problem is the Formatter circuit board which is no longer available as a replacement part. The repair cost is very expensive and must be quoted by the facility you contact not me. Expect 4-6 weeks turnaround.
