If you use the scart to connect, then the digital receiver will be seen as channel 0, or AV1, AV2, L1 L2, etc., depending on recorder and tv set.
Connect the receiver to recorder (tape or DVD RW) input, and recorder scart output to TV.
Then set recorder timer for recording from input channel on time you want, and leave digital receiver programmed on the channel you want to record.
You will not be able to watch a channel and recording a different one at the same time using this equipment.
Hi,
What may be required is to connect your cable or receiver to the the input of the D-VR16SB. The outputs of the DVD Video recorder/Video Cassette recorder will feed them the inputs of the Toshiba TV 19W331DB.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
Connect your video source/s to the D-VR16SB input port then follow user manual on how to record.
Provide additional details, your equipments & how are they connected to each other.
THE DVD RECORDER WAS DIRECTLY HOOKED UP INTO YOUR TV..? OR DO YOU USE A RECIEVER ON THE CONNECTION..
Look for the DVD recorder that offers the inputs and outputs you want to use:Component Video — offers the best video quality
S-Video output is the second best option and can be found on most DVD recorders.
Composite Video — is quite good, but not as good as the previous two outputs.
Analog Audio Output
Optical/Digital Audio Output
FireWire port — see bellow.
Some DVD recorders have a FireWire input for direct transfer of
camcorder footage to DVD support. Also, look for a model that lets you
edit the video before burning. A few models of DVD drives have a
FireWire output, that allows you to transfer digital video on your
computer.
Another function of the FireWire port is you can transfer recording from a digital cable box or satellite receiver.
If your DVD drive doesn't feature a FireWire port, you have no other
option but feed the camcorder's composite or S-video output into the
corresponding input of the DVD recorder. This means transforming
digital signal into analog and back to digital, a process that degrades
video quality.
