My Sharp Viewcam (VL-NZ100) will

You would need to have the camera diagnosed/repaired by a professional or sharp themselves. Most independent places online will give you a free estimate. have you tried a cleaning tape? Given the age of this unit you may want to consider replacement.
thank you,

Sharp Camcorder VL-NZ100E battery doesn't seem to charge

2.7 volts is too low. Usually camcorders use battery at least 6 volts. Problems with rechargeables especially NiCds and NiMH, a cell will be shorted. for 6 volts pack, there are 5 cells in series (5 pcs x 1.2 volts with load , 1.35 no load). If you are measuring only 2.7 volts, it is highly possible that 3 cells are dead. As for the charger, if the same charger is used to power the camcorder and you said the the camcorder operates using the adaptor, this means that the charger is OK. You can ZAP the battery back to life but I will not recommend. It can be dangerous. If you can buy the battery, I suggest you do it since the old battery, even when zapped, will not provide enough juice anymore.

Dew

Dear Gmartinez,
Could you please explain what you mean by "dew pops up"? Do you mean that you see water droplets in the LCD display or inside the camera somewhere? If thats the issue then make sure that you do not switch on the camera without making sure that the moisture is completely dried. This issue is common if there is a very large temperature gradient .. for example, you might be staying in a hotel or a room where temperature is maintained at 16 degree Celsius where as outside the room, the temperature is around say 30 degree Celsius ... or due to rain or because you took few pictures on sea shore or any other water body.

Remove the batteries and keep the camera in sun to make sure that camera circuits are completely dry before inserting the batteries.

If this is not the issue then kindly explain the exact issue and I would love to assist you.

Regards,
Srinivas

Download correct software to burn dvd off of camcorder

You do not need the manual, you need the white DV cable that comes with the view cam. it connects into the DV port on the left side of the camera theto the "Y" port located next to the usb ports in the front of the hard drive. Turn the camera to VCR and XP will automatically open the CD wizard and follow the prompts. then use any burning device on your computer, mine is Media Center to make a DVD. Its easy for those challenged like myself!

Trying to record and display says Eject cassette

May be a stupid suggestion but check the slide lock on the cartridge to make sure it is in the record position.
'Night vision' is a term applied too loosely; it originally referred to the original 'starlight' scope that uses a special tube capable of actually amplifying light particles (photons).  More recently, the phrase has been applied to devices capable of 'seeing' into the infra-red spectrum. Since too much IR sensitivity affects the quality of any digital camera, the sensors are normally designed to be less sensitive to that wavelength.
The fact that none of the specifications mentions the minimum usable light level is bothersome. Most digital cameras (and camcorders) have 2-3 lux ratings which is not in the category of 'night vision' at all.

Picture button stays depressed

What may fix your button is a VERY tiny amount of WD-40 you might try placing a single drop with a swab or toothpick. The drop should be allowed to enter the camera. This amount of lubricant PROBABLY wont be detrimental, and it may fix the stuck button.
