I can't make or recieve phone calls on my xperia ray

When I answer my phone I can't hear the person at the other end and they can't hear me, I have looked to see if there are any settings I can turn on or off to fix this but I am still clueless. Can anyone help?

Make sure your Audio Settings are correct. I am not sure if you can turn off your Built-In Speaker and Microphone. Also, make sure you have nothing plugged into the Headphone Jack.

Else, try updating your Phone Software to the latest version, available here:
http://www.sonyericsson.com/update/?lc=en&cc=gb

Select Xperia X10 from the list and download the software update.
You must plug your Xperia X10 into your PC using a USB cable to perform the update.

When i answer or make calls on my xperia x10 the person on the line cannot hear me speak i have had the phone professionally reset and still the problem continues, would really appreciate it if you could...

Sounds like there is something physically wrong with the mic.
Try recording a message with any voice recording apps you have on the phone. You can also try voice commands such as google search via voice.
If nothing picks up, then it will be hardware.

When recieving or making a call, I cannot hear the other person.

haha same problem here. but i know the problem. send it back to the factory. your speaker has a faulty wire in it. mine took 17 months to start with this problem. The factory will fix it but probably a large price tag will follow. you can also go to lg.ca and look for a repair shop. if you want to hear them tho, just try and hold it half way open and it might work, thats what works for me.
