No signal or weak signal

By cstewart5000, posted on Sep 21, 2008 My grandson pushed a botton on our remote. My husband tried to fix it. I can not get a picture at all now. I get the error message no signal or weak signal. Is there a way to reset the tv and let it reload? I've unplugged it and disconnected the cable over night thinking it would let me set it up again.

  1. Since my problem (Samsung/Comcast) began with a channel selection button pushed on the TV remote when it should have been pushed on the cable remote, I figured the problem lay with the TV.  Although I was getting the "weak or no signal" msg., the actual signal strength displayed as strong. Disconnecting did no good. I surmised that the box was simply not recognizing the TV.
  2. I looked at the manual for my Samsung 750 model.
  3. Page 20 discussed "Selecting the source". I accessed the TV menu and selected "Input", then chose the "HD..." item from the highlighted list. Voila! My husband will be so proud of me when he returns from hunting camp.

Sorry I see the model,
hold the Menu button on the TV (not on the remote) down for three seconds.
Note: Shop Mode is activated in the same manner: Pressing and holding the Menu button on your TV for three seconds. To avoid accidentally setting your TV to Shop Mode, avoid pressing and holding the Menu button on the TV for three seconds or more.

I have a bose tv speaker system. I have not used it in awhile. I cannot seam to get it working. the red light is on the remote device that sets under the tv.

Check the remote control for its infrared emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check it by pressing all the keys. You can detect the presence of infra-red emission from the remote control, using a cell-phone camera. If you wish to get more details about how to check a remote control, please visit this site. No display and all push botton switch not function

Check the remote control for its infra-red emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check by pressing all the buttons on it; and see whether all of it generates infrared signal while pressing. If it is found OK, check and replace the infrared sensor inside the TV. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. I was watching t.v. my grandson called then i looked at the t.v. and it said no signal. i have tried unplugging it and turning it back on. i have changed the batteries in the remote control. nothing...

This seems to be due to the TV being on the wrong input. Use your Vizio remote and cycle through the inputs until you reach the audio inputs. Try all of them with the receiver on and the amber, green and blue lights on the receiver. If you do not see a picture here the TV may have been connected by coax. To check this go to th TV input using your Vizio remote and key in 03 or 003. You should be able to see satellite now. It will also depend on how your system is a connected to your peripherals if you have any connected.

Hope this solves your issue. Thanks for using FixYa.com.

My husband played with the remotes so now our Samsung shows with a banner of "Weak or No Signal" what do I need to do to get Comcast back?

Your Samsung is in "broadcast" mode.
On the remote, press the "source" button once... twice...until you get to the Comcast input.

GARAGE CONTROL SYSTEM

Try holding the hand held remote up next to the homelink (built in remote). Hold down the botton on the hand held remote and the botton you want to program in the car at the same time until the homelink light goes out. This could take 60 seconds or more. Now depending on which model garage door open and how old it is you may need to program the car to the opener. Usually this is done by pushing the botton on the back(Liftmaster,Sears, Chamberlin) or the botton on the front(Genie) and then go to the car and push the same botton on more time. I hope this helps.

Troubleshooting vcr

Usually one connects a RF [cable tv, Dish tv, antenna ] cable to the INPUT of VCR & a RF cable output to tv (antenna )INPUT .The reason is that if you are watching TV reception (Cable, Dish, etc) and you want to watch VCR tape, just push the tape in and it should start playing picture.
From what I understand that you are trying to say:: [ YOUR NEW TV ! ] you MUST connect to the RCA jacks, CABLE S with RCA plugs that come out of the VCR to the new TV [ INPUT & OUTPUT] jacks .When you ["" use input botton on VCR remote"" ] you are using a DIFFERENT input signal. You are not letting the TV know that you are changing the signal from RF(antenna, Cable, Dish, etc)to the RCA signal ["" I use my input botton on my vcr remote""]
