If you see a no signal message, then it means that the signal output format of the PS3 does not match . It happens if you have previous used it on another tv and now connected it to a different tv. To resolve this, turn off the PS3 . Press and hold the power button on the PS3 till you hear three BEEPS. The PS3 should automatically detect the tv's resolution and the initial setup screen should appear. After that you should just follow on-screen instructions to set it up.

HDMI INPUT-2, and HDMI INPUT-3 jacks have identical functions with HDMI INPUT-1, having an additisional feature for DVI connection. Compactable video devices can be connected to either set of jacks.
Use HDMI (DVI) INPUT-1 to connect your DVI device, make sure you connect the audio out to the DTV's VIDEO-3 Audio IN.
The VIDEO-3 audio jacks are used to recive the audio from the DVI device. These video jacks cannot be used when a DVI device is connected.
DVI TO HDMI INPUT-1 JACK CONNECTIONS.
[1] Connect the set-top box (STB) output to DVI's HDMI INPUT-1. Check with your local electronics store for a DVI to HDMI Adpter Cable that matches your equipment and DTV.
[2] Connect STB Audio out to DTV's video-3 Audio In L/R.
[3] Press INPUT to select HDMI-1 to view the digital programme.
NB: Only the HDMI (DVI) INPUT-1 jack can accept a DVI [Digital Video Interface] connection.

If you feel any difficulty to get the programme viewed or doesn't get any HDMI signal at all, check all the connections; especially HDMI cable for any fault' Should use a high quality cable when HDMI is used. OK.
Turn the PS3 on then press the input button on the remote or on the tv till you get a signal.
