Blank pages when making a copy. The printer cartridge is fine. I can print demo, configuration, usage reports, etc. from the Reports menu.

Does the machine make blank copies? Will it produce internal reports like meter count or demo page,?

Step 1:

Print out about 10 blank (all white) sheets and see if the spots clean off.

Step 2:

Check to see if the toner is Dell type brand, if not try installing Dell brand and run 10 blank copies then run color test print using menu key.
Press menu, press arrow down key till 'print reports' is displayed, Press 'check key' then press down key till 'color test print' Press check key to print color copy.

Configuration page
The Configuration page lists the current settings and properties of the printer. You can print a
Configuration page from the printer or HP Toolbox. To print the Configuration page from the printer,
complete the following steps.
1 Press the (LEFT ARROW) or the (RIGHT ARROW) buttons to select the Reports menu.
2 Press the button (SELECT).
3 Press the (LEFT ARROW) or the (RIGHT ARROW) buttons to select Config report.
4 Press the button (SELECT) to print the Configuration page.

Yellow print OK?
No? try print with another yellow toner cartridge (Q6002A).

You can print usage page as follows via front control panel on the printer itself.

1. Control-panel display: The display provides information about the product. Use the menus on the display to establish product settings.
2. Back arrow ( ) button: Use this button for the following actions:
   
   • Exit the control-panel menus.
   • Scroll back to a previous menu in a submenu list.
   • Scroll back to a previous menu item in a submenu list (without saving changes to the menu item).
3. Left arrow ( ) button: Use this button to navigate through the menus or to decrease a value that appears on the display.
4. OK button: Press the OK button for the following actions:
   
   • Open the control-panel menus.
   • Open a submenu displayed on the control-panel display.
   • Select a menu item.
   • Clear some errors.
   • Begin a print job in response to a control-panel prompt (for example, when the message [OK] to print appears on the control-panel display).
5. Right arrow ( ) button: Use this button to navigate through the menus or to increase a value that appears on the display.
6. Cancel Job (X) button: Press this button to cancel a print job whenever the attention light is blinking or to exit the controlpanel
   menus.

Now follow these points to print th required page:

1. Press OK to open the menus.
2. Press the Left arrow ( ) or Right arrow ( ) button to navigate to Reports, and then press OK.
3. Press the Left arrow ( ) or Right arrow ( ) button to navigate through the reports, and then press
4. OK to print a report.
5. Press X to exit the menus.

This is a problem with either the formatter board or the dc controller, try doing an nv ram ( turn off the printer and hold down the right arrow and the cancel button, turn the printer back on and continue holding until you see permanent storage init). If this doesn't work call hp tech support 1800 334 5144 and ask for a case number. This printer has a service note which will cover the formatter for 2 years.

The "Device Statistics" under the reports menu will give information on printer and cartrige usage.

You go to the Main Menu on the physical printer, then you look for reports , hit enter and finally look for "usage page"
This will show the number of copies you have printer with the unit

You can print a configuration page using the control panel of the printer, it would have the option page count in that configuration page.



To print the Configuration page from the control panel
1. Press (LEFT ARROW) or (RIGHT ARROW) to select the Reports menu.
2. Press (SELECT).
3. Press (LEFT ARROW) or (RIGHT ARROW) to select Config Report.
4. Press (SELECT) to print the Configuration Report page

Page Counts. This section lists the total number of pages printed, the number of color
pages printed, and information about paper jams.

You have to print out the meter report.

1. Press the [Reports] button on the Control Panel
   
   
   
   
2. Press the [Up] or [Down] arrow until 'Systems Data' is displayed on the Display Screen.
3. Press the [Enter] button.
   
   The System Data list will be printed with the following information:
   • Total Page Counts: Total number of pages printed
   • CRU Prints: Number of pages printed using the current Toner (Dry Ink) Cartridge
   • Replaced Toner Counts: Number of new Toner Cartridges installed in the machine
   • Replaced Drum Counts: Number of new Drum Cartridges installed in the machine
   • Current Drum Page Counts: Number of pages printed using the current Drum Cartridge
   • Platen Scan Page Counts: Number of pages scanned using the Document Glass
   • ADF Scan Page Counts: Number of pages scann
