I unplugged the cable to my Officejet 4315 in order to move it across the room, and when I plugged it in I couldn't get a print job to run, even though I saw the job in the queue. A little troubleshooting and I concluded that I would have to uninstall the printer driver. So I left the cable unplugged, and began the uninstall process. A Status window with an image of a computer screen, and CD disk, in the corner of the window popped up when I began the process and it looked like things were progressing nicely, and the process was nearly complete. A Cancel button was at the bottom right corner of this Status window. A short while later I got another Status pop-uo window saying "The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2718." This status message had a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in the upper left corner. An OK button was in the center bottom of this status window. Long story short: if I hit the Cancel button on the first status window, the second status window popped up. If I hit the OK button on the first status window, the first status window popped up. At this point, I can't uninstall the printer, re-install the printer, or get rid of the two status windows that are stuck to my desktop. All personal feelings aside: I will say that it will be a cold day in hades when I knowingly purchase another HP or Hewlett Packard product. In the meantime, I would really appreciate if someone would tell me what went wrong and how do I fix this HP problem now so that I can print. Also, I should point out that I used the CD that came with the printer when I purchased it to uninstall, which was the same CD to install the drivers when I bought the printer a year ago. Thank you very much.

Why should I repeat myself? I have exactly the same problem as described on the first post.
