I am having an issue with my car !
My drain pipe for the AC is blocked again .
How do I konw because the carpet is wet near the centre hub of car under the dash.
My AC works but I noticed the heater not working due to the water sitting on top of the heater. I also noticed the demister was blowing cold and water vapour. So my demister on the front window was fogging up the windscreen .
Get a mechanic to check the AC drain pipe !
Hello,
Usually on a window AC there is no drain plug. It relies on the tilt of the of the AC. The AC should be installed with a slight rear tilt so the water flows to the rear to where there should be two factory drain holes. Besure to get proper drainage otherwise the fan will pick up water and blow it into you house and cause humidity. I have also drill a hole on the lowest location on the bottom of the chassis to help drain it seven better. Your AC depending on where you live and how humid it is will collect more water on a humid day than a dry day and also the effenciancy will be worse on a humid day.
try running the ac as well as the heater. The ac removes the humidity (water vapour) in the air in the car which is causing the fogging up . Hot moist air on glass creates fog ( same as clouds). You will get a comfortable temperature inside without the fog
1) Your AC has a VERY powerful blower. 2) The intake air filter is probably really clean (if not recently washed). 3) It is extremely humid... The water is likely condensation on the evaporator (totally normal), but because the air is flowing so well and fast, it doesn't have enough time to drip down.
The a/c could be slightly leaning toward the inside letting the water drip in or the drain hole which allows the water to drip outside could be stopped up. Find the hole and blow through it with compressed air to unstop it.
There is a water pipe from AC to outside,
if a lot of gel inside the pipe, it can make water flow become jam.
Clean it by blow the pipe with a compressor from outside.
Sometimes I did it with my mouth. LOL......
But its worked finally.
AC units do take the humidity out of the air and water collects in the bottom. The unit should be tilted slightly downward on the outside so that the water runs outrside. Make sure the drain holes are clear. The pinging noise is common, the fan is hitting drops of water, nothing to be concerned about
take ac cage off or ac out of window so insides are exposed take out side and use water hose and clean out side coils and in side coils dont bend these coils or u will be sorry,,,clean out good if not stoped up have freon put in
