Hello,
The operating system of your player is corrupt. Format it with your computer by following the below steps. If the below doesn't help, then you will have to install the firmware of your player to repair/fix the OS. This will make the player work like before.
Connect the player to your computer, using a USB cord.
Wait a while for the computer to recognize and download the player.
After that, to "Computer", you will see a drive representing the player. The drive could be drive F: G: or H:
Right click on the drive, scroll to format. Allow the player format.
Disconnect the USB cord from the computer and player and try again.
Formatting doesn't help, then you will to re-install the player's firmware.

1.Turn off your mp3
2.Press the Reset hole at the bottom of the device with a pointed object such as a safety clip
Connect your mp3 player to the PC with the provided USB cable and try to format it>>

tried what you just said but didn't do anything
Did that with the reset still says not formating when I turn it on
Still will not format
Tried doing what you said about the drive and the letters but never saw that so I could have done something wrong on my end but the computer will freeze up for a while then it will start again so it couod be somethng going on there to keep it from formating . I will try it again today but don't think it will do any good.
