I have a D545E dehumidifier. It does not shut off when the bucket is full. It also continues to run when I remove the bucket. I have manually manipulated the stop switch behind the bucket and it still runs. Do I need to replace the switch and where can I get it ?

First, anytime you remove the bucket, you should turn the unit OFF, before you remove it.
The unit may not be turning OFF when the bucket is full due to a fault Float Valve near the top of the interior of the bucket. It may be stuck in the DOWN position, if you model is so equipped. Jiggle the arm of the float valve to see if it moves freely and is not stick.

As far as the bucket safety removal switch is concerned, you may can find it at the following link.

When full bucket light comes on water is emptied and bucket put back in position. Fan will start and then the full bucket light comes back on beeps and shuts off.

You have to be sure bucket is replaced exactly where it should go or the bucket will hold the switch in, thinking it is full. If you have a floor drain close by,remove the bucket and set the dehumidifier over or next to drain so water will go down it,then you don't worry about bucket getting full.If it doesn't run with bucket off, maybe defective switch. unhook wires to the bucket switch and hook or tape together,if dehumidifier runs then switch is bad. UNPLUG FROM OUTLET BEFORE DOING THIS. IF YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND ELECTRICITY GET QUALIFIED HELP!!

Dehumidifier manual

Good morning friend, thanks for your post!

Based off what you're explaining it sounds like your Frigidaire dehumidifier might not be leveled. Any time your dehumidifier is not properly leveled water will not drain out the rear but instead into the bucket. I would recommend checking to assure your appliance is leveled. If your dehumidifier is leveled detach the hose to make sure nothing is blocking the water for exiting into the hose. If those steps are unsuccessful and you continue to get water into the bucket please respond back and I can research more information for you. Best of luck. -Matt

Fedders a7dh45b2a*a-r dehumidifier shuts off before the bucket fills

Actually, it's probably doing what it should. Let me explain: Dehumidifiers run until they have lowered the humidity/moisture level to where you have the humidity extraction level set. At that point, the unit shuts OFF, until senses the humidity level has risen above where you set the level and it turns ON again. That doesn't mean the bucket will always be full when it shuts OFF. It may turn ON & OFF many times before the bucket is full. Watch for the Bucket Full Light to illuminate. That's when the bucket is FULL and needs to be emptied.

Hope this helped you understand how the unit works.

This dehumidifier continues to run after it is full, spilling water out of the full tank. How can I fix this?

Diane, the float valve in the left top of the bucket (it's styrofoam) is stuck and can't shut the unit off when the bucket is full. To help you solve this, I am providing a link to your Owners Manual that will help you with this problem You can download and print the manual for future reference Be sure to turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF and unplug the unit, before attempting to solve this problem.

Attached a pump to drain collected water. The

the water should still collect into the tank. the dehumidifier had a float switch that shut the unit off when the tank is full. In turn it should have a second switch, probably a float switch that turns the pump on and off so that the pump doesnt continue to run when there is no moisture in the tank
