No reset button. What happened is either circuit breaker(mains) tripped or the non resettable high limit thermostat blew or the control board was fried by trying to repair oven while still connected to LIVE POWER

How do you replace the bottom heating element

Turn off power to oven, remove two screws on heating element mount, pull heating element from wall of oven, remove two screws connecting electric leads to heating element.

To install new element, reverse steps. Make sure screws connecting heating element to wires are very tight -- otherwise they will arc.

Removing oven element to install new one

Turn power off at service panel (220 volt circuit breaker). Remove screws from heating element mount on wall of oven. Pull heating element from wall of oven far enough out to see the where the wires/lugs are screwed to the heating element leads. Remove these screws. Replace element. Make sure screws on heating element lugs/leads are tight -- if not tight, arcing will occur.

I replaced an element in the oven of a frigidaire model fef366emd and somehow one of the spades came off the element without my knowing, I turned it on to see if it would work and I heard an electric...

all repairs should be performed by an authorized service person.you may have blown your home electrical breaker for the range. reset the home breakers make sure you reset both breakers. high voltage ranges have dual switches.the range should work after resetting the breakers.

The lower burner burnt in half after arcing....

Yes, elements are common and VERY easy to repair. Just be sure to un-plug the oven so you don't have to worry about shock or electrocution.

You will need the replacement part (probably less then $50) a screwdriver and or a 1/2 socket wrench.

You can order the parts locally or use a site like this (repairclinic.com) to identify and order the parts you need.

Kenmore Oven going crazy

The bang may have been an element arcing over.  Turn off the power and remove the element.  If it shows any form of damage, replace it.  If you're not sure, use a continuity checker to check it.  If you have two elements...do this for both.  You will likely find the problem.

Yes the element failed and they will arc when they do that.Ive actually seen people hose them down with a fire extinguisher only to have it still arc. Bake elements are inexpensive and very easy to install.
