NEC Phone System - Setting Up Operator's Voicemail

Hello,
I really hope the resident experts can help with this glitch. NEC was not willing to.

Most of our extensions have voicemail working properly. When a caller chooses the operator's extension, if the call is not asnwered, it transfers to voicemail, but the system plays a message "Please enter your security code."

We've double checked that the vmail greeting is setup on the operator extension and we've checked that it's active. The 'Please enter security code' message still gets played.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

You really need an administrator for the Voicemail to reset the password.

Try this.

From an admin phone, enter the voicemail. Then select More, Mgr, ChBox, then enter the ext# you need to reset the password on. Then choose Reset Password (Select Yes when the system asks you if want to reset the password). You can access the reset extension's voicemail by entering the default code (0327).

Nec Electra phone reset
1. Login into Voicemail
2. Go to admin Feature
3. Follow the instruction
After that your phone will be reset.

How do I remove the Operator feature on Auto Attendant?
Depends on the type of system you have. need model number of phone system and what cards are in the slots? normally the voicemail card is all the way to the right and is an FMS, VMS, or VMP card. might just need a nec tech and software to change it.

Hello there and welcome here

Please try to call your phone operator in the first place and tell them about the problem, I think maybe you are using the wrong number to set in the phone answer machine

Answer light is on and won't come off
Feature 99 is supposed to cancel all activated features but does not always work in this case, ths is a common problem,try getting your voicemail box reset, It could be a glitch with the voicemail board.
