Freezer fan not working

Freezer cold but fan not distributing cold air to fridge and freezer.

I was told to remove cover at back of freezer and give the fan a slight spin which release the fan if stuck. That worked. It is now spinning and spreading the air to the fridge.

Smae thing condensor is cold fan will not run. While investigating found if one fan connection is grounded the fan works

The fan behing the rear panel is not spinning. I tried giving it a spin, but no luck. You can feel the motor running when you touch it. The front vents work fine. Refrigerator cold, but not as cold as usual. Also is running all the time.

Peace Friend,
ngfam1 At your service!

Ready?
If the freezer is cold and not the fridge, you need to make sure the freezer is filled to the top and covering the cod air vents and passages usually found in the rear or bottom rear of the freezer!
If they are blocked or covered whit packages the unit will not be able to transfer cold air to and from the fridge!
Yes, they share the air in most refrigerators!

What type fridge,model and age?

If not only a trained tech can make the electronic diagnoses.
Like we used to be able to fix my own cars, but not today they need diagnostic equipment!

I have a frigidaire pro FPHS2386L and the freezer is too cold. Any ideas?

George makes a good point but I'd like to add that there is generally a fan that blows the air between the freezer into the fridge area. If there is no obstruction, the fan most likely needs to be replaced. On a few models this can be done with a little patience and a screw driver and the fan part. Check with a Sears Parts distribution store avaiable around the country for the part if the model is carried by Sears. If not, Google the fridge make and model number with Freezer Fan Replacement.

Zanussi integrated fridge freezer, top half fridge not working

It appears you need to get the cold distributed from the freezer section to the frig section. This can only be accomplished by a fan that forces the cold air throught openings between both sections. Since the freezer in at the bottom, cold air cannot go upward, thereforethe fan. Chech that the interior fan (in the freezer section) is running. Check that the air openings between the sections are not blocked. Finally, if all looks good, then maybe the compressor system is slowly failing and only making enough cold for the freezer, but not enough to be circulated. Goodluck, Macgivor

Refrigerator section not getting cold - air vents not blocked - cold air coming into freezer but not out of vent at top/rear of fridge

Evaporator fan may not be running. This fan distributes cold air throughout the freezer and to the refrigerator. The fan is likely located behind an access plate at the top of the freezer. If it's running, you should be able to hear it. If you can't hear it, open the access plate and look at it. If it's not turning, you will likely have to replace the fan motor.

Freezer too cold, fridge not working - Amana freezer on bottom

Something tells me you are right.
I'm sure you know that cold air seeks the lowest point, in your case, the freezer drawer.
About every combination unit I have ever seen uses a fan to 'stir' the air in a controlled manner and one or more adjustable vents to allow you to balance the distribution of the cooled air.
I'd place my bet on the failure of a (possibly Chinese) fan motor that isn't turning anymore.

Freezer works fridg dosent stay cold

When plugging it back in, check to see if you can feel air circulation (from vents in the top-rear) on the refrigeration side.
Check again after the fridge starts to warm.
There is a fan which is supposed to distribute the cooled air from the freezer to the fridge; this may be failing after the fan has warmed from operation. The bearings in these is primitive and can get sticky impeding the fan's rotation. Replacement of that fan is not covered by the (longer) compressor warranty.

Creda R335NW Fridge/Freezer. The fridge section is not cooling down anymore, The freezer is working ok. Any ideas please?

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp

If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.

Refrigerator compartment cools correctly for a few days then no longer receives cold air from freezer. The freezer continues to operate and gets much colder than it should.

does your fan blow? freezers have a fan that pushes cold air to the fridge side if fan is bad freezer will run extremely cold and fridge won't cool down and since frige won't cool down thermostat in fridge doesn't tell compressor to stop

Frost Free, freezer ok but fridge warm

If all else fails I would completely defrosted the unit.If there is any blockage this will open up all the tubes.Unplug it open the doors put pans of hot water in the freezer to speed up the process.
Make sure your fan is still working ,its located behind the freezers back wall. If it is working the vent from the freezer down to the refridgerater may be blocked. With out a fan you have no circulation but your freezer may look likes its working,it may last 3 days. Also if you can move everything out unplug it turn it off w/ doors open 12 to 24 hrs this will free up any clogged tubes. Good luck.

Ice maker stopped working, plus fridge not cold, but freezer o.k.

I would check that fan motor in the freezer section is running. it distributes cold air from freezer into refrig section also if this motor is running the top portion of freezer will not get cold enough to allow ice production. the motor is easy to repl and is mod# specific you should be able to buy one online.
