yes but shipping alone would eat a lot of $$$ they r pretty basic - u should be able to do that urself. a multimeter may be necessary it is either broken wire in cables bad connection inside case thermal cutout bad tip switch.

You may have a broken wire in the temp sensor in the tip of the iron or near where the iron connects to the base.

hi, i have faced the same problem with my station also. the issue will be only with your 6 pin connector, check whether all the pins are getting connected properly. some times when u apply force the connector's pin may go inside. check up with that.

I had a similar problem. I found that the cable from the transformer to the iron had an open in it. There are two spots where this mainly happens. At the transformer connector, or and probably this is it, at the iron entrance, You can remove the heater on the iron and take a voltmeter and see if you have power there. I found on mine that there was an open. I removed my cable, cut off the end at the iron and re-installed it. It was not easy but I managed to get it repaired. This is a kinda trial and error thing, mostly cables fail at the strain reliefs, this is where there is the most play in the system, and the constant flexing eventually breaks a wire. the transformer screws may be loose, or the plates may have delaminated in the transformer. as long as it is working it should be ok. try tightening all the screws you can get to, see if the noise quits.

There is a bimetalic strip and a magnet that can get stuck in the closed position. Tapping the iron on the end of the bit can release it otherwise a new element will be required.

Hi, I'm not sure the tip is defective. Check that the tip is screwed in tight. If it is not good and tight the tip will not get a good heat transfer from the solder wand. Hope this helps. If the wand will heat then the tip should.

Sounds like main transformer is bad or bad connection. Unplug it and take it apart and check for loose connections. Good luck.

I am looking at my Weller Portasol P-1k unit right now. They use standard flints. Go to almost ANY store you can think of and they sell lighter fluid and flints (usually sold in a pack of 5). About a buck or two.
