LG 60PG60 60 in. Plasma HDTV Questions & Answers
How can I eliminate lines across bottom of picture?
Well... for sure your power board is good!!One down... 2 to go.My answers are NOT based on any LG experience... but I can tell you after 50 years on the leading edge of MOST electronics... the biggest challenge you will have is finding how to open your case.... and KEEPING track of which screws go where...DO KEEP TRACK... Do unplug your device & be safe!Do a quick read up on ELECTROSTATICs... but unless you are in a dry windy location simply putting on a wrist strap is unnecessary.ALWAYS Ground your hands before you ever touch any electronic components.Check the bus cables and connectors in between the boards... here a reseat process can help... but be extremely careful. Use a really good magnifying glass or even a jewlers loop to make sure you are seeing if it is indeed a plug, locked or keyed plug or a special retainer clip... plug. Some are simply attached (soldered) ribbon cables... so be very careful.unplug and re-plug the connectors. It that works wonderful. If you see some remarkable contamination... wring all the juice out of an alcohol swab... wipe it... and take a toothpick point of white lithium only on the metal to protect the surface (extremely sparsely... the cure can be a problematic as the trouble),Failing all that... start noting the SPECIFIC CARD NUMBERS to look up on the INTERNET.Its been a long while ... Most modern sets have three basic components... 1. screen assembly (usu: the “everything else” board is connected directly)2. Power board (transformers and lots of capacitors... leave it B).3. “everything else” RF receiver, amps... etc.4. (I haven't opened a set since the started putting in the 802.11 features If re-seating works... wonderful (quit while you are ahead)You are left with writing down the BOARD numbers of those circuit cards... and hunting them up on the internet.Bunches less than having a SEMI-SKILLED "tech" possibly ruin your set for you... in two trips (minimum).Good luck and happy hunting

What is the part number for glass on 60pg60
Usually plasma TV problems start with the screen. If the plasma screen is broken or crashed, it's not repairable any more .
It needs a new plasma screen replacement, which may cost you
more then the plasma TV itself. ( new screen run ..2 -3k in real life
.) Budget management !!!
Protection front screen (glass on front) can be easily replaced
and not so expensive as PDP panel behind it. If you have just
protection screen damage your screen(PDP panel) will work
without any problem . Plasma screen contains - aluminum base
and two pieces of glass with gas between them ( gas inside not rechargeable ).
Pixels with gas , controlled by small electrodes . Each pixel
contains 3 colored sub pixels : they are green, blue and
red. Plasma screen works in 2 steps:--- gas ignition
Bottom half of screen black on plasma tv
Either there is bulging capacitors on the main power board,or the Y Board lower is faulty. If the entire screen was black I would lean toward the Y Main Board,or if the upper half was black then i would say the Y Buffer upper board is defective.
Any problem with lg 60pg60. good tv??
I as a technician that repairs LG,Sony,Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Samsung ,etc..Have found that LG is the one brand that I have nothing bad to say about.I love working on their products and they have the best support for technicians compared to all other brands. You as a customer can benifit from this because of the vast knowledge that technicians will have if you were to have a problem. As I stated I work on all brands in warranty and out and LG parts are cheaper than most.On the other hand you may buy another brand only to findout it was made by LG. Philips,Toshiba, are examples of this some of their units are made by LG,And chances are 50% of the Plasmas on the market contain LG made plasma panels.Good luck hope this helps.
I have a LG dvd
player 5083 inserted the disc the correct way into the draw but the machine does not play the disc a very slight humming noise is heard then it spits the drawer back out
Clean the Lens: Use a DVD cleaning disc to clean the lens. If the problem persists, consider professional cleaning.
Test Other Discs: Try playing different DVDs to see if the issue occurs consistently. If it's specific to one disc, that disc might be the problem.
Check for Updates: Make sure your DVD player's firmware is updated. Refer to the manufacturer's instructions for firmware updates.
Try a Different TV: Connect your DVD player to a different TV to see if the noise disappears. If it does, the issue might be with your TV.
The hum is simply the player trying to read the disc. It can't so, it spits it out.
Remember that prolonged use of a malfunctioning DVD player could potentially cause damage. If the problem persists, consider seeking professional repair or replacement
