Lid on carafe

Sadly, I have about 10 people who have this coffee maker. It is a wonderful little coffee maker and is very delicate.

the worst problem all the people here say is the lid leaks like a waterfall or it leaks by dripping non stop while pouring.

I had to call Bunn, who made this machine, and they have yet to figure out a solution to this problem other than having people who own this machine buy a whole new carafe with new seals.

You might try your local applianace repair store. Sometimes their engineers are smart guys who knows exactly what seals will work or where to get the parts you need better than the actual manufacter.

My Bunn BX-B just stopped

Hello,

The problem of the coffee maker is simply from the thermostat regulator. It is bad and need to be replaced. To fix this is quite expensive, and will require a professional touch from an expert that will be able to carefully disassemble am reassemble the components for you as the parts are quite sensitive to deal with.

There is no reset switch for this coffee maker, you just have to replace the thermostat before it can start working fine once again.

Hope this was helpful.

Hi, W/D here.
To get your Bunn working again, place a filter into the basket, fill the reservoir, and allow it to begin dispensing into the carafe. This will take several pots of water to get it filled and overflowing (dispensing). Plug it in, and let the reservoir heat up. It's not necessary at this point to have the heating plate turned on, but you can do so if desired to check that it is working, then turn it back off. Once you hear the reservoir heating up, pour in 8 ounces of white vinegar, and let the machine dispense into the carafe. Place an additional 8 ounces of white vinegar into the carafe, and pour back into the reservoir. Let the water heat up again, and let the vinegar solution sit in the reservoir for about 30 minutes. Top off the carafe with cool water and allow the carafe to cool with the warming plate turned off. After the 30 minutes, pour the contents of the carafe back into the reservoir, and it will dispense again. The water in the reservoir will heat up again. Check the coffee filter for residue. If you see a lot of grainy material, change the filter, and repeat the cycle until the filter comes out clean. Save your old filters as you go. Lay them out in order on paper towels, and you'll be able to mark your progress. When the filters clear up, discontinue recycling the vinegar solution and, instead, fill the reservoir with fresh water. The sediment has by now been freed up (de-scaled) and will continue to come off in smaller and smaller quantities. Each time you place fresh water in the machine, the dispensed liquid will smell less and less like vinegar. When no vinegar odor can be detected, you are finished.
Best regards, --W/D--

My bunn coffee maker leaks

You need to replace the washer kit inside the top of the maker. Remove the 3 screws that fasten the top and lift it off. You will see the rocker leaver that allows the water to flow into the tank. At the point where the rocker stops the water there is a series of washers that degrade from the heat over time and allows the leak. The washers are very easy to replace. The problem is finding the washer kit. I found it at: www.buyitnow64.com for $3.95 plus shipping (FedEx is only $9.98). I bought 2 (one for backup) kits. The original washers lasted almost 6 years. I had repaired this problem before with a washer from my shop but it broke down rather quickly from the direct heat from the tank. This washer kit is a Bunn washer kit that is supposed to fit all Bunn machines both residential and commercial.
Hope this helps. It took me 2 hours on line to find the washers!
