it's because the contact that sense whether the watch is opened or not is misaligned.Just open the watch caseback, re-allign the gold contact on the case-back, and make sure it touches the spring in the other side of the watch.

The word LOW means that the solar battery charger is not charging. This could be a defective charger or you're not out in the sun long enough to keep it charged.

The battery does NOT need replaced.The word "Open" on this watch means that the sensor inside the back of the watch has detected that that the back is open. I ended up having to repair this problem myself after a local watch repair guy told me he didn't want to mess with it. You'll have to get a micro-philips screwdriver and remove a few screws and pop the end caps off to get to your problem.After you have removed the screws and end caps inside the back there's a small spring that pushes against a copper disk glued to the back of the watch. The problem is that Casio has used a crappy glue to hold this disk in place and it needs to be removed and reglued to the back in it's proper place with super glue. It's a pain in the **** but I have repaired mine by doing this. BTW...I have found a video or another help for this fix on line so I won't go too much into it. Do a Google search and you'll find the step by step process listed elsewhere.

May need a battery replacement. My solar atomic watch battery died after 3 months. Casio said the battery was not covered by the warranty. Check this YouTube video for the battery replacement process:

Sounds like the solar back up cell needs to be replaced. You can get it repaired for rather cheap less that $30(US). You can contact www.casiosalesandservice.com to have it serviced. 877.659.0761

The best would be to start with the battery check (must be full power) and full resetting of the watch.

This is a job a specialist watch repairer should do. It will need specialist tools so if you are not familiar with working on watches pay someone to do it for you. Also consider the cost of repair. It might be cheaper to simply buy a new watch.
