Yes, the Riccar 4812 does in deed have a reset switch. Unfortunately some dishonest repair man will tell you at this point that your motor has gone, but 7-10 times it's the reset switch.
If you look down at the base of th vacuum cleaner at the vacuum bottom in the back, right above the rear wheels, you will see a small red button. Take a ball point pen, and while the vacuum is plugged in, go ahead and push the red button or the reset switch. Did the vacuum come on?
If not, it may another simple problem of the cord/ plug going bad.
I hink if it just stopped workint all or a sudden, it's prbably the reset switch.
