In order to fix this issue, we are going to need to force the unit into a
recovery application. In order to do this please make sure that the unit is
completely shut off. When the unit is off, you are going to want to press and
hold the TV/LCD button and the power button at the same time until a recovery
code 101 pops onto the screen. As soon as you see this, let the buttons go.
Once you got this screen up, you are going to want to repair the operating
system by arrowing down and clicking repair. After this is done it is going
to ask you to connect your device to the computer and install an update file.
In order to do this, you are going to want to go to www.archos.com and go to
downloads. You are going to want to download the firmware for your unit.
After the firmware is saved to your desktop, plug the unit into the computer
and open up "My computer" and you should see the Archos in the list
of drives.
Your going to want to copy the firmware onto the root directory and not in
any file folders. Once the firmware is on the Root directory, go ahead and
unplug the unit from the computer. It should still say Please plug your
device into the computer and install an update file. Click OK. After this is
done, it is going to tell you to please connect DC or USB in to continue with
the update. Go ahead and let the unit install and reboot. After this is
done, you should be able to use the unit properly. If the unit still does not
work properly, we are going to have to create an RMA for the Archos. If you

in the archos....select SYSTEM....change windows media player to PC Hard Drive and this worked for me

very small scew under kick stand two more under feed opposet of kickstand screw driver catch latch left and right sides of achos logo pop open plug and play hope that helps :) ooooh one more thing beware the only thing holding the usb port in is the screen it may slide out of place when you open the tablet its not supposed to be opened and is a little tricky to line up when your closing it again. finaly only do this if the warntee is up archos will replace the internal batter for free if it is still under warantee finaly the archos 101 battery also fits the 80g9 but very snugg it will however give you just shy of 48 hours constant use over the 15 hours that the 80g9 original battery will i had mine playing a 80 hours youtube play list for two days before it lost power and did not plug it in just to see how long it lasted roughly 53 hours i think

Download the latest firmware for Archos 605 WiFi to your PC.Connect your 605 to PC and copy the film across and unplug 605 from PC.I take it you have tried to update it and this happened.It has happened to others too, they redownloaded and tried again and it worked.Hope this helps, if it does then reply here please.

well i got to tell you the truth mate archos are **** every mate of mine and me have all

expierenced this problem it will go from this to not

turning on at all - you wont lose your data it wont format
mine just doe sent turn on

Just Format the Player it would Fix the Issue! Its a Memory Issue!
