With the drive inserted in a computer, open file explorer and find the drive and right click on it and select properties and then tools and select check disk for errors.. If that cannot repair it you may need to download a program to recover the files.

Have RCA H100A ... had to have computer
Here is the link to all the downloads you will. need:
http://rcaaudiovideo.com/downloads/?sku=H100Did you know that most of the time you dont even need the extra bloated manufacturer software on your PC.
Getting music on it is easy to do:
plug your mp3 player to laptop with USB cable
locate your music folder on laptop, for instance, on WIN7, they are located in "libraries"
when you locate the files you want to transfer, just right click and select "send to",
the MP3 Player should be listed as a drive.
when it shows, select the "music" folder on player and left click to select.
the file should start to transfer.
Do this with each folder or select all you want at once.
warning..it may take a while for a large group to transfer. Same applies to video Good luck

How do I remove all songs and return my RCA h100a
You will have to do that using a computer, to do that using a computer, you will have to connect the device to a computer using the usb. Then when the autoplay is on, select open file to view folder, then you go to the music on the device, then you highlight all and right click, then you select delete, it will delete all the songs off the mp3 player and from there it will be the way it was when you first bought it, empty and ready to receive new music on it.
Hope this was helpful. Thanks for using fixya.

I want to format my
formatting this type isnt really recommended but to do it you would just plug it in and select the drive letter it pops up as and format it in the corresponding file system. Which in this case is fat32.. I would check the files that are on the player. as on some of these rca players they have system files like usb.ini and other files that are required for the mp3 player to work. An by formating the mp3 player could cause it to not work...
If you need further assistance please feel free to follow up with a comment and i will be here to assist you. If this assisted you please feel free to rate the comment. thanks and have a great day.

RCA Lyra H100A
You must be running Windows 98 - see if RCA's website has the driver - you must have that driver or the installation CD - there is no other way (unless you get a computer running Windows XP or higher):
1. Insert the supplied installation CD into the CD-ROM drive first.
2. Read the readme file of the installation CD.
3. Double Click “77xinst”, then Restart Computer.
Method Two:
1. Insert the supplied installation CD into the CD-ROM driver and
connect the unit to your PC via the supplied USB cord.
Note: Do not select the charging battery mode after connecting the
unit to your PC. Please see page 4 for details.
2. If the player is recognized by your PC, the “Add New Hardware
Wizard” is activated, and click “Next”.

My rca h100 said it has lost format please help
I have the solution. first you must take it apart. Be gentle, the case will slid up its pretty tight. Next, remove the harddrive and the ribboncable attached to the hard drive, its a set of pins. If you notice it looks like a compactflash card, thats because it is! Just plug it into a cf camera and format it or a computer through a reader or through most printers because they generally have a card reader that connects it to your camera.

RCA H100A
take out the two screws on the top and slide the face in a downward motion it will open it up,. if dropping it helps then most likely have loose connection to ur hard drive, open it up the bottom big square deal is the drive. use a tiny flathead to pry it up gently then pull the little black clips back that hold the wires in place. unplug it if its plugged in and carefully insert it back in and close the clips, re assemble and bam it should work unless ur hard drive is fried, THIS WILL FIX LOOSE CONNECTION TO DRIVE

Try this method...
Hook up your mp3 player to your computer
Go to your desktop and double left click on "My Computer"
When it opens you will see listing that says "Devices with Removal Storage" your mp3 player should be listed there.
Right click on your mp3 player, and a window will open, right click on "Open" and now your files/songs should be visible.
Hold the left click down and drag it across all the files/songs that you do not want this will highlight the files/songs you do not want, release, right click and then click on "Delete"
Now you mp3 player should be clear of the files/songs you do not want.
Please do not forget to rate me.
Good Luck,

I have Audio books that
First download the driver from your player's manufacture's site. It will be under download tab or support tab.
Download and install driver, then restart pc
Then turn on device, then plug into pc, then go to my computer, then you should see your device there. Double-click on the device folder. Now you can see and will have access to all folders.
You can leave this page up, then go to the page & file that your book is on. click, hold, and then drag this file over to the audio book folder and release the button, it will transfer the book to the mp3 player audio book file.
You can also use windows media player 11 and sync your mp3 player to your windows media player and create a playlist or library and transfer them onto mp3 player as well
