Whirlpool Duet wfw9400 is giving me a f22 error - door won't lock. I can't see any problem. Suggestions?

The F22 is a door lock error. When the control senses the door has not locked after six attempts F22 will be displayed.

There may be detergent on the door lock mechanism keeping it from locking. I recommend cleaning the moving parts of the door lock. Also make sure the wiring connections from the CCU (Central Control Unit) to the door lock are tight and in good condition.

If you have a volt/ohm meter and are comfortable working around live electricity I can give you a few checks that will help you diagnose the problem. I have included a wiring diagram that will help you locate theses connectors (see below). I have also included detailed testing information to help with your diagnosing. Always unplug or de-energize electrical equipment before removing covers or attempting service. Be careful and wear appropriate hand protection when working around sharp metal parts.

  • Check VAC (Voltage Alternating Current) at IF2.
    • You should have 120VAC, if not check the wiring.
  • Check VAC at DS2.
    • You should have 120VAC, if not check the wiring and if good replace the CCU.
  • Check VAC at DLS2.
    • You should have 120VAC, if not check the wiring and if good replace the door lock assembly.

I have a whirlpool ghw 9400 front load washer that

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
It is necessary to ensure absolutely that the machine has all 4 feet very firmly on the floor, and I mean firmly ;-0)
Doesn't matter whether it is empty or not but switch it off then- very firmly push one front corner diagonally into the centre of the machine and see if the machine moves or rocks AT ALL, even the slightest. If it does you will need the open-ended spanner which came with the (new) machine........which of course went missing a long time ago?!! An adjustable spanner will suffice.
Adjust the foot under that corner downwards until it is very firmly- almost pushing- against the floor but not so far that the corner lifts up!
If this corner did not rock do the same to the other.
Once you cannot rock the machine the slightest little bit, screw the locking nuts up tight to the underside of the machine so that they will not move. Ideally the rear feet should also be locked.

(If this has not cured the problem it is possible that the internal suspension is malfunctioning.)

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

My washer wont drain and i cleaned the drain tube.

Remove as much water from the tub as possible. Remove the three screws from the bottom front of the washer. You may have to tilt the machine back to get access to the screws. Remove the lower panel. Right in front is the clean out for the pump. Have several towels or a shopvac ready to catch the water. Unscrew the cleanout from the pump. Remove all the coins, lint, hairpins, bra wires and other debris that has accumulated in the trap. Reassemble and test.

Washer display dl and beeps

Hi,

The FdL code is saying there's a communication error between the CCU circuit board and the door lock. 9 times outta 10 the problem is with the CCU circuit board (inside machine, top, back, plastic case) There are bad solder joints, also called cold solder joints, at the points where the spade connectors and relays (5 of them) are supposed to be firmly soldered to the circuit board. With these bad solder joints it's hit-or-miss if the CCU board recieves the the signal that the door is locked or not, and without the door locked info going back to the board, the machine will do nothing. The cure is to remove the plastic case with the CCU board in it, it's easier that way. Once the case is out then remove the board and touch-up those solder joints I mentioned. If your not up on your soldering techniques you can remove the CCU case with board and take it, along with this response, to a good appliance repair shop and they should be able to help you out. The solder joints to be repaired are easy to spot, they are the largest solder points on the board. Good luck.

It flashes a DL and the door won't lock

Hi,

The FdL code is saying there's a communication error between the CCU circuit board and the door lock. Most often the problem is bad solder joints on the CCU circuit board that only make intermittent contact, inturn giving off various different codes like yours. The cure is to remove the CCU circuit board (inside, top, back) in a plastic case (it's easier to remove the case with the board in it) and touch-up the solder joints where the spade connectors and relays (5 of them) are supposed to be connected to the circuit board. If you're not up on soldering techniques then just take the CCU and this response to a good appliance repair shop and they should be able to help you out. Good luck

ERROR CODES F11 AND DL . CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT THEY

Hi,

F11 is lost communications between the CCU circuit board and the MCU circuit board and the FdL code is a door lock problem. There more than likly is no door lock problem and the lost communications is only a half truth. The biggist problem that whirlpool has with these machines is bad solder joints on the CCU circuit board that prevent communications between the MCU, Door Lock, and other things. The cure is to remove the CCU circuit board (inside, top, back of machine) It's in a plastic case, remove the plastic case with the board in it, it's easier that way. Then touch-up the solder points where the spade connectors and the relays (5 of them) are supposed to be securly soldered to the circuit board. If you're not up on soldering techniques, just take the case and board, along with this response, to a good appliance repair shop and they should be able to help you out. Good luck.

F2 Shows up on control screen and cloths dont go

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

F2 is a drain error in your Kenmore washer, if the unit is unable to drain then after 4 minutes it will display sud and then F2. The first thing that should be done is cleaning the drain hose and the drain pump filter, you can take out three torx screws from the bottom front panel and then clean the area completely, lift up the cap to clean the filter. If the error returns then check the drain pump if it is not working then replacing the pump is recommended repair. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

F13 is usually a dispenser circuit error, which means the dispenser motor is not able to move to its proper position.

This maybe because the dispenser motor has failed or the mechanical link from the dispenser to the motor is broken or the wiring to the dispenser motor has become detached.

Try pushing the dispenser door closed more and see if that has any effect otherwise i think you will need a repair man.
