The synaptic touch pad on my gateway laptop is not working. I can scroll the mouse pointer around and I can right click, but the left click and the touch pad itself do not work. Any suggestions for a quick fix? This has happened previously and by powering off it worked again. That is no longer working.
Thank you mewms_14904. The problem was the F key. In my case it was F7 that enables and disables the glide pad of my notebook.By pressing fn key and then F7 solved my case.

I knew your password problem. For I have met the similar problem that I forgot my Windows 7 password on HP laptop. As I remembered, then I just go to Google Search "Forgot Windows 7 Password", and get tool "Windows Password Recovery Tool" from search results!

Even after pushing eject button and Ctrl-J, going to Windows Media Player and pressing eject; error message shows 'stop processing using dvd-rw drive' there is nothing accessing this drive I cannot eject my cd out of the cd player on my laptop
There is a small hole, usually near the eject button. Unbend a paper clip and carefully push the paper clip into the hole, try to keep it straight. drive should pop right out.

THE SCREEN ON MY GATEWAY LAPTOP TURNS ALL WHITE
Try moving the screen a little with your hands if it changes and you can see the screen as normal then you probably have a loose cable and you can open screen and rseat cable. If it stays white then you will need to replace the screen. You can the get screen on ebay.

MY COMPUTER WORNT TURN ON IT WILL POP UP A BLACK SCREEN THAT SAYS NO TMP OT TMP HAS PROBLEM.. THEN AT THE BOTTOM IT SAYS PRESS F2 TO ENTER SET UP...THEN WHEN I PRESS F2 IT FREEZES AND DOSNT EVER GO TO SET UP. I HAVE WINDOWS VISTA IF TAHT HELPS. THANKS
Here how to fix this issue:
1. Disconnect the power adapter.
2. Remove the battery.
3. Unscrew the back cover for the hard drive.
4. Disconnect the CMOS battery for a few minutes. (the battery is located under the the small circuit board.)

I have a similar issue where my laptop locks up during the boot process, No TPM or TPM has problem and will not go any further. Not sure if its just a coincidence or if its the actual problem but when i remove my DVD rom drive from my laptop it boots up no problem , just without the use of my DVD rom. I'm thinking it may be a BIOS issue detcting my DVD rom drive and it just freezes during the boot process.
Any other suggestions are openly welcomed
do you have access to another dvd rom? you might order one and use it to test/ return it if it dosnt work.
you could always use an external rom.
cd/dvd roms have their own firmware (like bios) that could be damaged on yours.

It is starting to overheat and I want to try to clear out any dust buildup inside.
Go to any good office supply store and buy a tin of compressed air.
Or go to a spray shop who use oil free lines.
Take the battery out and give the machine a good long blast
Better still take off the main covers underneath before you do so
Make sure that you do not use any air supply that has oil or water in it

I have NV52-14u with Atheros AR5B93 and after I upgraded to windows 7 my wireless driver is buggy and i can only get wireless signals half the time. I know that its not my router because i get like 8 signals from my house and all wireless drops at the same time. I read somewhere that my driver might not be compatable with windows 7... if so is there some kind of adapter or do does some one know where i can get a patch for the origanal adapter? HELP! lol
no it isnt the windows 7... i have a NV54 with the same card and works like a charm. I recomend you to download the drivers for windows 7 from the official page of Atheros.

On most laptops there is a button to turn it on and off. Look for a button that has a FN on it or any button near your touch pad. If either one of those do not work try updating your driver for the touch pad.
