U have CC button on ur remote?Push that button on like CC1,2,3 one of these will get u captioning,but the show must have captionning in it programming it have CC and a square before show started it indicated it have captioning.

The reason there is no picture is (95%, certainty) the loss of the high voltage. The high voltage is what produces the energy for the raster lines upon which the video is modulated.

Therefore, the video and deflection circuits may be working just fine but you cannot see because there is no high voltage to the picture tube.

Now, it is possible, also that power to the picture tube filaments has been lost, or that the power supply to the biasing voltages is defective or that the picture tube sockets are corroded, but the overwhelming cause among TV sets is loss of high voltage.

Refurbishing the high voltage will probably cost $250 or from anywhere you go. Even if you do it yourself and buy the parts wholesale you will not save a tremendous amount. So, unless you are very handy and know how to troubleshoot, solder, repair and test, I think you are better off finding a good shop for the repair.

I'm having the same problem with the same TV. I called around to repair shops and I guess it's fixable. Haven't taken it in yet but I was told it most likely is a bad module. But this seems to be a really common problem with this television

No thats a pain huh? It is not actually louder ..oh I know it seems louder but technically it isn't, You see what they actually do, is they compress the audio, into a special mid sound range, that to most people sounds LOUDER, and so you "Pay Attention" Thats why the automatic limiter, that IS built in won't work, diabolical huh?

if you are using a cable box, run a.v.cables, hdmi, or s.video to your set. i'm taking for granted that you ARE auto programing your set thru the menu and you do have the setup/menu selection on all channel search. if you've hit the reset button on the remote...you'll need to unplug the power to the tv. if it is a problem with the connection, i have had problems like this repaired by pros for about $50.

No picture sound fine

Ur LCD inverter board is dead.Must replaced this board to get the picture back.It usally a long board.Tries Websites Shopjimmy.com,ebay.com for part.

It sounds like the back light inverter board may have gone out, or it is not getting 24vdc from the power supply module, those are the two places to check.

You just need HDI cable with usb compatible ends.These sell cheaply on Ebay.

Must use RCA cable RED,WHITE out audio hole connection in the DVD player.The other RCA connection to tv audio in hole.The S-video only get video not audio.

If you leave the tv unplugged for 2 days (atleast) then plug it back in and try to turn it on and if it comes on its the power supply board. If it comes back on it will probably shut off between 30min to 4hrs and you would have to unplug it for 2 days again. All the power needs to drain out of the tv. If thats the case take the back pannel off and check the part number out on the internet. Not hard to do becarefull touching things the power supply does store a little bit or shock in it. Good Luck.
