I installed windows xp sp2 in the bios setup boot

1. Maybe your HDD is getting to die.
2. Try to switch off any RAID in BIOS, and switch you IDE controller into compability mode if it is in you bios (otherwise you need the floppy with you motheboard controller driver) while installing windows)

I've installed windows xp SP2. 1st windows

Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect/ boot up a computer hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error if this fails to fix the problem another possible reason could be a memory dump you might be running to many programs at the one time placing to much strain on the CPU also you might not have enough RAM random access memory to check what is running when your computer is running scroll to the bottom toolbar right click select task manager applications and processes if you see something you dont need running select end now to check how much ram you have click start right click on my computer select properties you will see all of your computers details another way to check how much RAM you have click start all programs accessories system tools system imformation all of your computers imformation will be there try uninstalling a few unnecessary programs then click start run type cmd then type chkdsk/r/f which will scan for and attempt to fix any bad sectors and automatically fix any corrupt files on your hard drive this will schedule on a restart don

My n1996 onboard display card

Your board has S3 graphics and if you would like to try and find drivers for that this is MSI's link;
http://www.msi.com/service/download/
I don't know what version of windows you are running and/or what the exact problem is with your graphics however, to answer your question, Your card will accept AGP 8X, 4X cards and, as long as you have an operational slot open, yes you can use AGP cards. If you have upgraded to Windows 7, you can find cards that have Windows 7 support.
