The clicking sound may be a power relay coming on and then off--problem indicates a trouble in the main power supply.

My best "guess" based on description is either the main board or the display panel itself is bad.

good day if the light indicator is blinking that is mean there was an error detected. now since the picture will come up then suddenly shut off the unit and then indicator will blinks you start with in the power supply usually a voltage drop cause of shorted component and mostly bad filter capacitor sometimes obvious bulged to its casing. replaced it with same value at least 105c rating and a panasonic brand much better you can find parts at www.digikey.com. another thing you considered is a bad inverter board and back light if their is a bad component at inverter or the back light itself was the problem the unit will shut off then error will be detected. to isolate the problem disconnect the connector going to inverter board then turn on the unit check if indicator will stay to green that is mean the inverter board has a problem. hope this will help just give feed back if still problem occur good luck thanks for choosing us.

You should replace R101 on the control board by a new 10K one.
The problem should be fixed with this.

If there is no indicator light on at all, then the 5vdc may not be working. You will have to do some voltage checking inside.

Looking for a screen also. I can buy a new 46" KDL-XBR2 for $100 plus $130 to go pick it up. Sony charges $1300 for a new screen. I havent been able to find a replacement screen seller though. Anyone have any luck?

You need to get the number printed on the LCD panel, you have to take TV apart to see it, the manufacturer can use more than one type of screen on your TV with the same TV model number. Is the screen cracked or it just shows black screen? Otherwise it can be the backlights inverter board or the power supply is bad.

From [email protected] found with this model, like a lot of others, that the feed socket into the inverter panel goes dry. Spray with servisol. If not, with extreme care, spray the scan drive socket too. Solved my problem, hope it helps..... Mike

Can you tell me how to adjust the picture size on the above tv? I switched it off one evening and when i switched it on again I was getting a broad black line at the top and bottom. When I put on the teletex I can see the tv picture down the right hand side of the screen. I have been through all the buttons on the remote control but am unable to fix this.
