Desktop has no signal

That means that the input from the monitor has no read able signal
Either the monitor is bad or the onboard or video card
Take the monitor and hook it up to a different PC to see if it works or hook a different monitor into that PC, that will ID which problem you have

Cant stay online. and cant pull up certain sites

Some newer viruses block web sites, including sites of most popular virus removal software. If you have a virus removal tool on your machine, unplug from the web and try to run a full scan as the first step.

Sony Vaio VGN-CR120E Cooling Fan Heatsink make

Your fan speeds up and slows down in response to temperature inside the computer. More so the CPU.

I would suggest getting a can of compressed air made for computers

take it outside, take of the side and blow all the gunk out of there, Really go to town around the fan (you might want to wear eye protection)
While you are in there just check that the CPU cooler itself is not loose

If it is it will have to be re-seated.

If it needs re-seating don't just take it off and put it back on as that might make things worse with your temperature problem they have to be cleaned and new thermal grease put on ($2-5)

DON'T remove the CPU just the fan/cooler assembly.

You must clean both the surfaces without scraping anything off. Use isopropynol alcohol and cotton bud sticks until both surfaces are clean, you can use your finger nail to scrape harder residue if you wish but nothing else.

DON'T pour the alcohol over the CPU

Now apply some new thermal grease (most computer shops have it)

Be careful about how much you put on

Here are
some basic instructions

Once you have re-assembled your cooler and re-connected it check everything is OK and power up the computer.

If everything went to plan you should now be back in business

Can't get the hp cd writer/dvd drawer to open.

You will have small hole on the drive. You may need a neddle to put it in. This will help to eject the disk out. But if this is a regular process then probably the gear mechanism is at fault which needs to be taken to a service center for repair.

Sound device

Do you still have the MB CD with all the drivers still with you, if so then run that CD once. Secondly soundmax has many versions running so look for the driver that was released during the time you bought your PC. Many a time you got to manually add the hardware and then its driver for it to function properly....................sodeep

PC shuts down while running Windows

Attempt to boot the machine in Safe-Mode.

While powering up continuously hit F8.

You will get a Boot Option Menu, Select Safe-Mode boot

If you can get into safe-mode I would suggest to try doing an online scan, as it sounds like your issue could be related to malware:

I press the power botton and nothing happens

It's possible that the spring clip behind the power button is broken and won't allow the power button to fully make contact. That's a fairly inexpensive fix. Or, some of the cables/wires could be loose, but I'm thinking (from your description) that it may just be the spring clip.

When I try to start my computer it automatically goes to power saving mode.

Take the side of pc off and locate CMOS battery, 3V disc shaped, and check if not flat as your pc will not start at all if it has lost all settings in bios. If replaced battery and still no luck locate on motherboard 'JBAT1' terminal and put jumper on pins 2-3 then back on pins 1-2. This will clear any faulty cmos settings and require you to set time and date again etc. If you still get no boot up, either the power supply or proccessor is faulty; unfortunately hard to diagnose over the net.
