I have an old maytag jetclean dishwasher that

Hi,

The first thing to do is where you put the jetdry turn it down to one. use powdered detergent the best is electosol is the blue box, dont use the heated dry feature and run the hot water at the sink first to get it good and hot that should fix the problem. I also recomend using GLISTEN every 6 months. its a citric acid that is designed to clean the dishwasher. i hope this helped

If you still have soap in the cup the water is not getting to it, this could be caused by many things, the easy way to make sure that it is all used is to switch to the gel packs or tabs, they fall out of the cup to the bottom of the unit and work fine, as far as the soap residue goes run it empty on a hot wash with a coffee cup full of vinager sitting on the top rack, that will remove the residue

PLease leave me comment, if you need further assistance

My dishwasher is 12 years old. We have hard water

A couple things can be happening here.

1) Make sure the holes in you rotating arms are not clogged up with food particles. If they are clean them out so water will flow freely. Then run an empty dishwasher with a cup of white vinegar, this should clean it real good.

2) The water may not be getting hot enough. The water is heated with the element at the bottom of the dishwasher. A simple way to check this is by stopping the dishwasher at mid wash cycle and touch the water at the bottom of the tub. If it's not very hot, than the element is bad and needs replacing. Just weigh the cost of replacing the element to the cost of a new more efficient dishwasher.

Hope this helps.

My Maytag dishwasher Model # MDB-3 will not drain.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Dishwasher not draining properly or not draining at all issues can arise due to different reasons. Usually, these issues are related to kinked hoses, knocked out disposer unit (if connected with the dishwasher drain hose) & clogged drain pump & filter.

Also note that dishwashers do not drain completely after a finished cycle and this is normal. Dishwashers are designed to leave some water in the unit to ensure that the heating element doesn’t overheat. If you suddenly begin to experience a large amount of water being retained in your dishwasher, you have a problem. Some of the most common reasons include that the drain hose isn’t working properly, the drain pump isn’t working correctly, or possibly there is a plumbing problem in your home’s drain lines.

First check whether the drain is not clogged or blocked and the line is not kinked. Check all the hoses for blockages & also clean the air gap. Has the disposer been replaced recently? If so, chances are the knockout is still in place. Simply remove the drain hose from the disposer, and knock out the plug. If the disposer has not been replaced, try removing the drain hose from the disposer and use a wet-dry vacuum (prepared for water, of course) to **** any water (and hopefully anything else) from the drain line. Then reconnect the hose, and test the unit. If you have checked the air gap and the drain hose and can’t locate the problem, then it is an issue with the drain pump of the dishwasher.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Rylee

How do I disconnect the electrical wire plugs from

first shut off the power to the dish washer. The plugs are just verry hard to pull off. You may brake the switch on the old handle but if you have the right new part it should have new switches on it. Just pull hard side to side wiggle off.

My dishwasher is not cleaning my dishes

hello. I can help you. Make sure your dishwasher is empty. Then pour two cups of vinegar into the dishwasher. Next run the hot water into your kitchen sink until it is as hot as it gets and start your machine. Run it on the longest and hottest cycle you have..

This will clean your machine. Repeat the process with more vinegar if you need to.

Once your machine is clean, be sure to always run your sink water until it is hot before turning on the dishwasher and also rinse your dishes. good luck with it.

Water drains but no water comes in

HI. this is a water inlet valve issue. i recommend testing this device. it may be faulty.

To access the inlet valve remove the lower panel located beneath the door. The panel is usually held in place with two screws either above or below the panel. It may be necessary to first open the door to the dishwasher to reach the screws over the panel, then close the door to remove the panel. The water inlet valve can be identified by the water hoses connected to it. One hose will lead from the valve to the pump/motor assembly in the center of the dishwasher. Check that the hoses are securely connected to the valve and that there are no kinks in the hoses which could restrict water flow. There are two wires (four, if it has two solenoids) connected to the water inlet valve. Label the wires and connections so that you can properly reconnect them later. The wires are connected with slip on connectors. Firmly pull the connectors off of the terminals (do not pull on the wire itself). You may need to use a pair of needle-nose pliers to remove the connectors. Inspect the connectors and the terminals for corrosion. If either is corroded they should be cleaned or replaced. Use a continuity tester or multimeter to test for continuity. Set the multimeter to the ohms setting X1. Touch one probe to each terminal. A reading of infinity indicates a bad solenoid that must be replaced. Different brands and models will have various measurements, but the valve should show some resistance if it is functioning properly. If your valve has two solenoids, test the second one in the same way as the first. If the solenoid is working properly, but water leaks through the valve even when the dishwasher is off, then the valve itself is the problem. Debris may be preventing the valve from closing. If the valve cannot be cleaned, it will have to be replaced. The valve can also fail mechanically. So even if it passes the electrical test, it may still require replacement. If you have ruled out all other possibilities, go ahead and replace the valve.

**(((If the inlet proves to be functional with no leakage, this will lead to the control. its has failed in thsi case. replace it asap)))

I have a Maytag MDB 5600AWW dishwasher. There are

If there are no lights on the control panel then initially check if connections to the panel are fine.If they look fine then you definitely need a new control panel. No need for a new touch panel. Its always that the control panel goes faulty, not the touch panel.
you can also check for competitive rates from local dealers and few sites like--repairclinic.com and applianceparts.com
thanks.

I have a Maytag MDB5601AWB

hello steve. your problem is mostly likely in the door switch. open and close the door a few times making sure you firmly close it each time. then push the start/cancel button and wait one full minute to see if it kicks in. The door switch is important because, if it's defective, the dishwasher won't work at all. To reach it, you need to remove the control panel cover, or sometimes the interior liner of the door. If it's defective, you need to completely replace it.

My Maytag washer leaks at the door. It doesn't

f you have nuisance water leaks around the base of your dishwasher, you may be using a detergent that is sudsing too much. Cut back on the amount of detergent you use, and see if that makes a difference.
Water that spills through the door vent is usually caused by improperly loading dishes. Leaks from the door itself may be caused by a faulty door gasket or door tightness adjustment.

Also make sure the dishwasher is sitting level (you can adjust the front feet up or down, and many units have some type of levelers at the rear).

Water under the dishwasher may be originating from a leaky hose or loose hose connection. Remove the lower front panel, and check the hoses. The pump seal may be defective, too; replacing this is a job for an appliance repairperson.

An older dishwasher may corrode at the bottom, but this is fairly uncommon. If this is the case with your dishwasher, it's time for a new one.
