Hi I solve this problem with a program called CardFive this program provides several drivers inside when you install it in Windows 7. I install CardFive 6.3. Note. this program don´t install a printer driver in Devices and Printers in Windows 7, only provides you a interface to print cards with your Eltron p310 and you can choose other printer models discontinued. My printer interface is parallel and works in Windows 7 With CardFive 6.3 pro.

Install the windows xp Virtual machine on your window 7 machine it is free and will run the printer I am running like this at the moment

My Eltron P310 card printer pulls in the ribbon alongwith the card, past the print head. Thanks for any advice

Before replacing your printhead, try cleaning the printer, run the cleaning card and also clean the printhead using the alcohol saturated swab, zebra part number 105909-169. In some cases that will fix your issue, if not your printhead needs to be replaced. The "i"suffix was introduced in around 2005 to try to stop patent infringements on the printer ribbons. They introduced a chip on the spool that feeds back to the printer. The chip has to be the correct coding for the badge of the printer. Zebra P330i printers are essentially the same as Javelin J330i and Polaroid p85igc but have three different part numbers for their YMCKO ribbon. You can run any monochrome ribbon on them because the mono ribbons have no chip.....not much profit for the brand owners. YMCKO however is not interchangeable. Find a Polaroid dealer for the full colour ribbon.
