Where is the upper looper on Baby Lock Eclipse

This is what an upper looper looks like http://www.tradekey.com/selloffer_view/id/3755146.htm

It is the one in the back and point toward the needles.

The looper in the front is the lower looper and points away from the needles.

Open both doors on the front of the serger and you will see the loopers to the left of the thread ports.

The air part does not function and I can not

Make sure all the settings are as they should be for threading and try again.

You can manually thread the loopers with a very fine gauge guitar wire or beading thread (looks like fishing line) with a loop on one end to hold the thread.

If you still cannot get the machine threaded, take it to a dealer to see if they have a wire threader instead of the DIY method I explained.

Get a wire threader for the machine from the dealer and store it in a safe place as it is easily lost - I lost mine 2 years ago - they are so thin they disapear!

How to adjust stitch width on babyloc eclipse lx

Here is the info about this serger from the baby lock's website. It says the stitch length is a dial. I couldn't find the manual for download, but they say they stand behind their products with support. I would follow the customer support link at the bottom of the page and request a user manual. It looks like they sell an instuctional video and optional workbook too. Might be worth the price to help you get the most out of your seger. Hope this helps!

Thread broke inside my air

Hi

The most common errors in sewing machine usage; yanking the thread backwards through the machine. This is one of the most common causes of tension problems among others that you will experience with your sewing machine.
When you change your thread, the proper way to unthread your sewing machine is to cut the thread up by the spool, and pull the thread through the machine in the same direction that the thread would travel when you are sewing.
When you pull your thread the opposite way, several things can happen. If, by chance the thread has worn or shredded above your needle, this knot will most likely deposit itself into your tension system if you pull the thread backwards. Once there is anything, regardless of how small, lingering in your upper tension, you will see poor stitching results when you rethread, in the form of loops or thread nesting underneath the fabric. This is because your upper tension disks can no longer squeeze your thread evenly.

Even if you do not have a knot or shredded area, pulling backwards can deposit lint and residue in the tension. Thread can also get entangled even deeper into your sewing machine, causing long term damage and premature wear. Examples of this are thread getting wrapped around the take up lever, crank, or worse, in the new auto threading embroidery machines, inside the threading mechanisms.
But for now, in answer to your question, it is time to take your machine in to your local sewing machine dealer and have your machine serviced, and tell the technician what you have done. He or she will be able to remove the sewing machine covers and have that sewing machine of yours running like new again.

Hello. the problem is the thread tension. Make small adjustments in the tensioner until it works properly for you. The factory settings are 4,4,4,4 for the dial on the front of the machine and stitch width setting M on the side of the machine. Regards, Joe

I have a baby lock protege and have had it for

This is a timing issue and without the service manual and specialist gauges you will very likely break a looper in any attempt to DIY....the cost of a replacement looper is around the same as a service, so do it a favour and get it done properly....they will also give it a good thorough clean and lube.
