Broken Carriage?

I do not think this is a DIY repair. That said, it seems likely gearing has been damaged. Without a workshop manual, even if you found the gear, you do not know the identification number for it. I see no authentic download of the workshop manual on the web for this Memory 9500. I only find the Instruction manual available on the web (freely available at the Janome site). Even if you find a Janome technician on an answer site, that is not going to get you disassembling the machine, replacing the part, reassembling it, and adjusting it. Check Janome support and see what they offer: tech advice, workshop manual for sale, and/or parts. You are likely to conclude you need to find someone at a service center. Here are some links: http://janome.com/en/support http://janome.com/siteassets/support/manuals/retired/embroidery/inst-book-mc9500.pdf Instruction Manual Janome and Newhome 9500 (hardcopy, some parts) http://www.janomeservicevideos.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/Error-Codes.pdf There is only one reference to the 9500 on the page.

Janome Memory Craft 9500 Troubleshooting

Have you tried a new needle? If re-threading, changing the brand of thread, etc. does not work, then it's likely your machine is out of time. Search for sewing machine timing or take it for service.

JANOME RX18S

If it was sewing correctly BEFORE the needle break...why did the needle break in the first place?...and what fixes did you make? If it sewed properly...what changed? Cut your upper thread close to the spool...make sure the presser foot is raised and pull the cut off thread section through/out of the machine from the needle area (sewing direction...do not pull the thread backwards!) Clean out the bobbin area...remove any traces of lint or pieces of thread...look for any broken off needle pieces... brush the bobbin area out....then add a drop of sewing machine oil (but only if your manual says to oil that area). Remove the needle plate to expose the feed dogs...brush/clean out that area too and add a drop of sewing machine oil...then secure the needle plate back on. Replace the needle...do it again...yup...some needles arrive bad from the factory. Make sure the needle is inserted and positioned properly. Then thread the machine WITH the presser foot in raised position. (The thread needs to get seated into the upper tensions.) ..with the.presser foot down...thread the new needle. Oh...and use the correct needle for the thread. (a universal 80/12 is standard). Thread can cause issues too. Try a different bobbin, or maybe a different spool of thread to see if that makes a difference.

I receive the Lower the Presser Foot error message when it is lowered. I have examined the sensor area and can't figure out what's wrong. Any ideas? Thanks!

it sounds like the computer is not responding correctly, it would be a good idea to have the machine checked

The default straight stitch on my MC 9500 is 3.5 and 2.0. I can change the setting and sew with the stitch I want. However, when I stop it reverts back to the default and I have to reset it.

talk with a sewing shop as I feel that there should be a save setting button to achieve this

Have you tried customer service for the software of your machine? sometime it depends on the window your using you might have to keep using your old laptop. I had to revert back to an older model computer in order to continue with my machine but it was a different sewing machine. Check with the cs of you software im sure its cost you a lot. Hope that helps
