This is usually caused by the tape. If it is a new tape, try to do a full rewind and then fast forward of the tape. Then try to record again.

well if it uses a tape mechanism .It will only have 3 motors .LOADING, CAPSTAN and HEADS.If one of these is running without tape ,you should get an error of somekind of your screen .If there is no error from mech then noise is possibly an electrical whine from the LCD panel power supply and or main camera power supply .
