Why does the VCR ejects my tape?

The VHS PlayPak adaptor uses 1 AA battery. When you place your VHS-C tape into the adaptor and close the cover, you will hear the motor running and the red piece on the adapter will move inside. Check the placement of the battery and make sure the clear shrink-wrap has been removed from the battery.

How do you change the tape speed on the ag-185

Normally the selection is automatic for playback but is to be set when you are recording. So if the menu is selected to switch speed ONLY in the recording mode it can be set to any of these speeds.

HELP ME FIGURE OUT HOW TO DOWNLOAD VIDEO TO MAC...

I use a DV camera that is not on Apple's "compatibility" list. (It should REALLY be noted that Apple sells camcorders in it's on-line store that aren't listed as compatible!) Depending on which software package you are using, including version, results may vary. I too had a fairly confusing frustration the first time out, but here's Jeffe's notes: FireWire! (USB is not for video). Start with iMovie: (FinalCut is higher-end, and thus is more picky about what it will take.) launch the application, then plug in the powered-on camera set to it's "play" (VCR etc.) setting (as opposed to camera setting.) If iMovie STILL does not see the camera, then I'd start to worry about compatibility, and contact an Apple SPECIFIC retailer (not a chain, like CompUSA etc.) for help. BTW: Nice Camera! Let me know if it works out. I was contemplating Panasonic for my next camera.

USB 2.0 vs. Filrewire - video to PC

Hi I have figured it out. Even if the USB 2.0 is faster than the firewire the camcorder itself do not transfer at the optimal speed when connecting with the USB (even id the USB can transfer faster). So the only fast transfer option is the firewire

MY IEEE 1394 port does not recognise camcoder

Although this post is rather old, I can tell you that the mini 4-pin firewire port is the bane of my existence. The 6-pin port is made rather sturdy with heavily shielded cable. The 4-pin uses the same heavy cable, but does not have the strength to support the cable, if it happens to droop. This causes pins to get slightly bent out of alignment, and upon re-insertion, you can get crushed pins if you are not VERY careful. Examine both your cable end and the port on your camera/deck - you will probably find one or more of the pins have been pushed back. Pray that it's the cable that's dead, and not the port in your camera/deck. I have a Canon XL1 and a Sony DSR-40 with the same problem - crushed pin in the unit's port. I'll have to spend $$$ to get these ports replaced.

Panasonic camcorder (NV-DS65) - Dew Indicator Problem

I found this on another site, but it WORKED great for me, and was a VERY easy fix, so I suggest everyone to try it before you go disassembling your camera. I know this sounds very stupid, but it actually somehow fixed my problem, so everyone should give it a go:

1) Turn the camera on.

2) When the dew icon is displayed, take off the battery and then hit/smack the spot on the camera where the battery goes a couple of times (not overly hard, but with some force).

3) Put the battery back and see if it's fixed. If it isn't, repeat the whole procedure. It took me about four tries but now miraculously my camera seems to be working, for the first time in about 3-4 years!!!

NOTE: I don't know what the exact "fixing" spot is, so I just hitted different places of the battery spot (both the upper and lower region). Take it easy first and don't hit too hard, see if it works and try again putting more force if necessary. I still can't believe this solved the problem, wish I'd tried it back when the problem first occured!

NOTE #2: I think this fix will probably also work on some other Panasonic cameras with the same dew problem - in fact, I think the guy who originally came up with this solution actually had a different camera model than I do.. I know it's a late reply, but hopefully this helps at least someone!

Playback on external device.

The SV-AV100 and the SV-AV50 come with an A/V cradle that allows you to connect to external devices for recording and playback. The SV-AS10 and SV-AV25 are not equipped for this operation.
