Hotpoint RVM1325BW Microwave Oven - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Where is the magnetron tube?
the magnetron is not a tube, looks more like a finned box with 2 wires attached to it comming from a capacitor which could hold high voltage, and the fuse is attached to a small filter board right where the cord comes in

Most major manufacturers supply manuals
online so if you were to log on to the manufacturer's web site, you
may be pleasantly surprised as usually, if available, one is able to
download, by model number, Customer
Instruction Manuals, Dealer
Network for spare part supplies as
required.
The information is normally free of
charge.
I hope this helps.

Hi
The issue can be due to either a bad keypad or the control
itself has gone bad. Please tell me its complete error code, you can also take
it apart and blow some air on the control to check if it solves the issue. Hope
this helps...please post back for further assistance.

I cannot tell how the
Unplug the microwave oven and get a needlenose plier and a flashlight. Wear some hand protection since you are working with broken glass.
Most of the bulbs I have seen are screw thread mounts.
For the bulb with the broken glass, use the needlenose plier and try to find the screw thread for the bulb. It should be screwed in to the lamp socket of the microwave. Carefully grab a hold of the outer edge of the bulbs screw thread and turn it counterclockwise to loosen it from the base. You may only be able to turn it a quarter turn before letting go of the bulb's thread and getting a grip on a new position to continue turning. Inch your way to remove the broken bulb's thread.
If the other bulb still lights up, I'd leave it alone.

This symptom would lead me to believe the high voltage relay contacts on the control board are bad.
The cost is about $135.00 for the control.
Let me know if you need instructions on how to replace it.

My microwave turns on, the fan and light work, but
HI. in most cases, this will lead to a failed Heating device(magnetron tube). It would be wise to check the Magnetron cutoff fuse to be sure of its integrity. if the fuse is blown, simply replace it. if the fuse continues to show continuity, replace the magnetron.
(((The fuse is located inside the unit along side the blower)))

"mute"
Assuming this is indeed your correct model number, I did not see any reference to the word "MUTE" in the manual!
If you don't have the manual, you can download it in PDF format here: http://tinyurl.com/yjmhbq
If you actually have a different model number, please reply to this post with your correct model.
GE/Hotpoint probably directed you to press the "HELP" key and see if there is a useful option in the help menus.
I would suggest diconnecting the power from the oven via the cord or breaker for a few minutes, then plugging it back in. Sometimes they sort of get their brains scrambled and neds a good reset.
If that doesn't fix it, I would suspect trouble with your control panel.
We repair the control panels for $32.50 nationwide, but your take on typical in-home service and replacement costs are pretty accurate.
I would wonder if an excessive amount of moisture may have gotten into the controls...
That can happen when you boil on the stove top without having the hood / exhaust fan running.
It can also occur if one sprays a cleaner directly on the keypad instead of just wiping it with a soft, damp cloth.
But that can often be repaired, too.
Once you've digested this information, fel fre to post back and we can take it from there.

Hotpoint microwave model
RMV1435BD under recall??
None to my knowledge, but common faults include keypad failure (may show error code "F3") and cooktop light failure, both of which can be affordably repaired. (See link below)

My Hotpoint microwave control panel will go off when it,s not in use. Sometimes tapping it will restart it , sometimes it restarts on its own
It may be a bad connection on the fuse holder, an intermittent fuse, a bad connection on one of the thermostats or elsewhere, or a bad connection on the control circuit board.
If you want to contact me privately with the model number, I can give you or a friend free DIY troubleshooting help and I also do microwave control circuit board repairs.
