How to get wifi on acer aspire 1390 wireless

Acording to the Manual http://www.manualslib.com/manual/1156/Acer-Aspire-1360-Series.html?page=7#manual that is a 2004 unit the best way is to go to the Control Panel, click Device Manager, rt click the wifi adapter and update the drivers on line. (takes awhile) Microsoft will auto install the correct driver. If you cannot see the wifi in your device mgr. Purch a USB wifi adapter from Tigerdirect an install that. Should be able to fix for less that $25. If it still has Windows XP on this PC you should not be on the internet with it, it is totally vulnerable to viruses & hacking. Standby

Could be a setting in Advanced Power Options, or something in your BIOS (the menu you see when the machine boots up and before Windows loads. Usually the DEL key will access it. Might be an issue with the OS too, but check those first.

Forgot password on Acer 1360

It's your Windows password? You can try to remove your password using Hiren's Boot CD. http://www.hirensbootcd.org/download/ -> download link inside. Burn a CD with the ISO, then follow the video:

Why do companies more like Windows XP instead of other systems?

I think peopel are used to Windows XP's peration mode and interface's functions. Or maybe is Windows XP's good compatibility. In my opnion, security is also the reason. With it I think the possibility of meeting password lost for Windows XP is low.

My computer does not start up

Computer does not boot up The problem maybe the RAM, it is faulty or just needs reseating to make proper electrical contact. Reseat the RAM and then boot up your laptop. If it still does not boot up then remove the RAM module/s and take them to your friendly computer repair shop and get them to test the RAM for you. Just like you sometimes need a mechanic to repair your car, sometimes you do need a technician to diagnose and identify the fault or faults on your computer. Not only does a good service technican have the experience to deal with this type of problem, they also have the equipment that allows them to look at things the average computer user can't see, and he has a collection of replacement parts that can be used to quickly test individual components on your computer.

How do I fix my question mark key will not work used fn key I have an acer laptop

Did you spill a liquid on the keyboard? Try clicking the question key repeatedly real fast you might have something that is sticky under it. I would say maybe your keyboard is going bad or needs to be reseated, but most times when that happens it would be more than just the ? key, it would be some other keys around it. Try booting in Safe Mode and see if the ? key works.

Turn off the computer, then hit the power button to turn it back on and immediately start hitting the F8 key repeatedly until you see SAFE MODE. Take the Safe Mode option and let it boot up. Safe Mode will look different to you, the screen will be darker and the icons bigger, this is normal. If the ? key works in safe mode then there might be a virus or infection that has it. Take the steps above to get into safe mode, but this time select the Safe Mode With Networking option (this will give you internet connectivity). When it boots up open up your internet browser and download and install MalwareBytes. Go to www.google.com and in the search box type: "Download cnet Malwarebytes" (without the quotes). Download and install malwarebytes from the sites download.cnet/malwarebytes. When the site opens up click on the Green Download button on the left. Do not click the Red Download button, that's junk. When it finishes installing the Gui Interface will open up with an offer to Accept a Trial Version or Decline. CLICK DECLINE you want the totally free version. Run a QUICK SCAN. As it scans, if it finds infections the number will be in red. When it finishes scanning, click SHOW RESULTS. A notepad text document will open up showing you the results. You can close the text document and go back to the Gui Interface where you will click REMOVE SELECTED RESULTS. The objects will already be selected for you. When it finishes removing the objects click ok and it will sometimes reboot your machine. If the ? key still does not work your keyboard might be bad for that one key..Here is a work around. Download and install the Virtual Keyboard. Anytime you need the ? key just point and click on the virtual keyboard with your mouse pointer and it will appear.

Go to www.google.com and in the search box type: "download.cnet.com" (without the quotes). Click the link to go to the site and look on the left side when the site opens up and you will see a gray area that says FIND SOFTWARE. In the white search box under Find Software type: "Virtual Keyboard" (without the quotes) and click the mirror to search. When the search results come back look for FREE VIRTUAL KEYBOARD. Download and Install it. It's totally FREE. Also uncheck anything that pops up other than the license agreement during the download and installation. You only want the Free Keyboard and not the other junk. You can use it to solve your keyboard problem. Just open up whatever it is you want to type on such as the web address in an browser, a word document, etc., then open the Free Virtual Keyboard and it will sit on top of whatever you were doing. You can move it around so that it is not in your way also.
